I bought this TV in september of 2004. Yesterday I turn it on it clicked as if it is starting I can hear some audio but then several seconds later it clicked off and the red light LED stand by on the front continues to blink.

The standby light should be blinking a repeated count with a pause between counts. Can you post that here please? That will indicate the cicuit in which the problem was found that casued the shutdown. Armed with that info, I should be able to indicate the most probable defective parts and how to resolve the problem.

Thanks,
Dan

Sony TV turns off immediately after turning on

Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits. Check this link to get more details about Sony Blinking codes.

Sony KV-20Fs100. Same problen as #4620488. TV

Hi,
4 blink of power led shows problem in vertical deflection section and most probably vertical output IC is defective, replace it to fix the issue.
Regarding .rar file type of service manual files, download winrar software trail version from internet, install it and use it to unzip .rar file to get pdf manual file.
You wont get +B volts because tv switch to protection mode and power supply shuts down. Service manual has blinking standby led error code details as well.
Thanks.

Sound Problem

There's a possibility that you may be experiencing problems with the audio output IC -IC404 - All serial numbers produced until July 2003 might use one of these defective IC's. So if your set was manufactured before this date, that is probably the culprit. If not, and you have it connected to a cable box that has its own volume control, it could be that its volume is turned down and by turning up the TV's volume too high that you are getting this distortion. Hope that helps.

There is a problem in the sweep section of the set. The Horizontal sweep power supply most likly. there is nothing a layman can do as it will involve troubleshooting the solid state circuit. please find a trainded tech to assist you in this repair.

Tv has a mind of its own

Just had the TV repaired for the same issue. According to the shop it was a bad channel up/down switch. That impacted the other functions (menu not working, remote malfunction) because they're all intertwined. Only about a $75 fix here in the DC area, so maybe cheaper elsewhere.
