When plugged in, the compressor never kicks on. It just clicks.

Originally I brought this unplugged fridge into my house from my cold garage and plugged it in right away (probably a bad idea). It worked for about 30 min and then it sounded like the compressor halted and rattled around. I unplugged it and let it sit for a few hours and replugged it back in. When it's plugged in, you hear a click and then about 15 seconds later another click. If left plugged in, the clicking will just continue and the compressor starts to get warm. The compressor never starts up and the fridge never gets cold. Does anyone have an idea of what I would need to fix or what part I would need? I'm hoping it's the compressor relay but not really sure. Thank you in advance for any help.

If the compressor is getting hot then the compressor is gone. But the price on a relay is fairly cheap so you can at least try it and if it doesnt work then return it and dump the unit. But like I said before when a compressor gets hot it means that the piston is bad and the rings are burnt and the oil is bad in the compressor.

Fridge freezer tripping rcd

Ensure it fully dries out before trying it again. Water in the electrics will throw your trip instantly. If it's dry now, and you are having the same problem. check the electrics for a short circuit or earth fault. Usually a compressor earth fault is to blame.

Samsung rs2630sh not cooling or freezing

If it has fan to deliver cold air, and it is not working, cold air is stuck on the begining. So your fan could be dead. And I suppose, that compressor is running all the time. Even compressor could stert freezing if fan does not deliver cold air in fridge. The other option is, that there is not enough gas in the compressor. In this case compressor vould not be freezing, but line, going out of compressor has to be hot, if it is not, there is no gas.

I moved my Hotpoint CTX25G fridge from the house to the garage. It did work great. Now the compressor and fan do not come on. Is there a reset function for this fridge or compressor?

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

Had a fridge freezer in garage. Just found that

more than likely the defroster inside the freezer has gone bad. This defroster is located in the space between the fridge and freezer and activates to defrost the freezer and stop build up of ice in the freezer.. If it is bad the freezer will not keep the fridge nor freezer cold.

Hello, my daewoo fridge freezer has stopped working. The light comes on & it sounds normal, any suggestions?

SOMETHINGS LIKE THAT YOU CAN UNPLUG FOR A WHILE THEN PLUG BACK IN AND THEY WILL MAGICALLY WORK AGAIN, I GOT A NON WORKING MINI FRIDGE FROM CRAIGSLIST AND THE GUY SAID IT DIDN'T GET COLD, SO I ASKED HIM SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT IT AND HE ANSWERED THEN AND I ENDED UP TAKING THE FREE MINI FRIDGE HOME , ALL I DID TO MAKE IT WORK AS UNPLUGGED IT FROM THE WALL AND CHECKED ALL THE CONECTORS ON THE BACK NEAR THE COMPRESSOR, I DID THAT THEN PLUGED THEM BACK IN AND I HEARD THE COMPRESSOR START TO KICK ON AND WAS LIKE YES AND NO I HAVE A GREAT LIL MINI FRIDGE TO KEEP SODA FRESH AND CHILLED , SOMETIMES I GET A POP TO EXPLODE IN THE FRIDGE BECAUSE IT IS SO COLD INSIDE

Light on in fridge but no compressor sound or clicks or fan

That dude is probably stuck in the defrost mode.
OK try this:
1. Unplug refrigerator
2. Turn Cold Control to “off (Compressor is off)
3. Plug in refrigerator
The defrost cycle has now been initiated. The DTT has a bypass/test point for diagnosis. To terminate defrost manually:
1. Unplug the refrigerator
2. Turn the cold control “on” (Compressor is on)
3. Plug in the refrigerator
The defrost cycle is terminated and refrigeration cycle resumes.
Replace the dang adaptive defrost if you cannot get any response.

Side by side

The clicking sound is either from your fan clicking against ice that's built up or from your compressor trying to kick on. Unplug your fridge and let it defrost for a day with the doors open. You will want to put everything in a cooler with plenty of ice. The next day plug your fridge back in. This should solve the click if it's your fan. If it doesn't then the click is in the compressor and you will need to hard start it. Hard starting a fridge is the equivalant of jumpstarting a car. It requires a specific machine. What happened was at the moment your compressor was going to kick on the power failed and so the compressor is frozen. Not temperature wise but figuratively. It needs a boost to get it kicking again. If you don't have a hard start machine consult fixya's local directory. This should just be a minimum service charge. I would try unplugging the fridge for a day first. It's cheaper. I hope this helps.
