Upon pressing the power button, the power light blinks but does not maintain a constant glow, the monitor itself does not come on.

That sounds like the backlight inverter board. Check ebay for the board or a repair kit for it.

I just had the same problem as well - mine happened during a windows update, related? Also, for me the monitor doesn't come one even after disconnecting from computer, nothing, just blinking green light.
