No HP devices detected. HP Solutions Center will close now.

Hi everyone. Anyone have a solution to the "No HP devices detected. HP solutions Center will close now" problem? I'm still using my HP OJ 7410 All in One via Ad-hoc w/less connection.

Been having this prob since like forever and was hoping someone could throw out a few ideas that might help.

Much appreciated.

I have the identical problem as stated but being a complete dummy with these miserable machines, the additional"help" posts don't mean a lot to me. The computer is a HP Pavillion a6637c with Vista home premium 64 bit and the printer is a HP Photosmart C7180 all in one.
I tried HP support and found them to be a joke. They wanted additional money to upgrade the printer warranty and this may not be the entire problem. I can print and copy but when asked to scan, I get the "No HP devices......." message. Since HP Solutions Center is part of Vista (?), does that not make it a Vista problem? The printer is hooked up by wireless connection and further confuses me. I don't know what is going to quit for good if I get my fingers into this. Any understandable help would be grearly appreciated. Thank you

I started all over with an un-install and re-installed all software first from the link "Dr GeekMD" provided and the problem did not go away. I still could not open "HP Solutions Center".The second solution from "womonsoft7" worked only from the disc sent with the computer. It appears there is a prompt which can be easily missed incorporated into the disc sent with the printer and , of course, I missed it the first and second time I tried it. The third time I went a little slower with the install and read all of the information prior to proceeding. The program now works properly and only due to your expertise. I now have a bone to pick with HP for the really poor support service they offer from Somalia or wherever. Just got to find someone to call or e-mail.

Thank you for your help. You beat the hell out of HP.

Try this:
From the link below download and install these drivers. But first uninstall and reinstall the printer and follow the installation step. The download is the full package for HP C7180 Vista 64 Bit:

It might help to uninstall the HP devices through the Device Manager, and then restart the computer. Let the computer try to detect the HP devices and install them and the drivers needed. You might want to have any software discs handy in case you have to reinstall any software that came with the printer, etc.

Try a complete uninstall:

Unplug the USB cable from your PC.
[If it is a WinVista Operating System Then in Go to Start> Control Panel> Programs and features delete all the entries you see for HP.( If it promts a restart do not restart now)
Rest all steps wil be same as winXP]

If it is a WindowsXP Operating System then:

Go to Start> Control panel> Add or Remove programs. and delete all the entries you see for HP.( If it promts a restart do not restart now)
Then open my computer> C:drive> Program files> and delete the HP Folder only (not Hewlett Packard)
Then Open C:drive> Program files> Common Files and then delete HP and Hewlett Packard folder.
Then Go to C:Drive> Windows> Temp and empty the temp folder as much as you can.
Then go to Recycle bin and empty recycle bin.
Then Insert the All-In-One CD and cancel the installation process.
Open the content of the CD> and open Util folder> Then CCC> Then click on Uninstall_L4 and follow the on screen process.

After all restart the computer.

And if possible download the software from HP website:

For WinXp:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-49256-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=228&product=3192753

Then click on download only and then follow the on screen instruction to install the All-In-One, ONLY PLUG THE USB CABLE WHEN PROMPTED DURING INSTALLATION.

Fo WinVista:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-49256-2&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&os=2093&product=3192753

Then click on download only and then follow the on screen instruction to install the All-In-One, ONLY PLUG THE USB CABLE WHEN PROMPTED DURING INSTALLATION.

OK that is something really big well dont have to worry there is another small thing that you can try ...
1. If you have the S/w CD then insert it in the computer open my computer >> Right click on the CD ROM drive and select the option EXPLORE >> there will be an icon that will say Util double left click on that >> You will get a folder that says CCC double left click on it >> you will get a list of different icons over there double left click on UNINSTALL_L2 >> a black window(cmd page) will open up and if u have the USB cable plugged in take it out and after that hit "ENTER" from your keyboard it will uninstall the drivers of the printer that is not getting compatible to the operating system in your computer after it uninstalls click on FINISH>>
computer will restart itself...... after that you need to clear the TEMP folder in your computer
...........if XP click on start>>click on RUN>> type %temp% and hit enter delete everythig that is there after selecting any one of them and then pressing Ctrl+A on your keyboard delete everything and then try and install the S/W....
..........if vista type %temp% and hit enter delete everythig that is there after selecting any one of them and then pressing Ctrl+A on your keyboard delete everything and then try and install the S/W ....

HP PSC, Officejet, and Photosmart All-in-Ones - The Error Message 'No HP Devices Detected' Occurs When Opening HP Solution Center (c00762521) Issue gtabtop.gif When opening HP Solution Center, a message appears that states "No HP Devices Detected ".
Solutiongtabtop.gif
Solution one: Check connections and status

    1. Check to make sure that the device cables are connected securely at each end.
    2. Make sure the device is turned on and not in an error state. If unsure, turn the unit off and then back on again.
    3. Try to access the device through Solution Center again.
    4. If the device is still not detected, proceed to Solution two.

Solution two: Check that there is a printer icon in the printer folder

    1. Click Start and then Settings or Control Panel .
    2. Click Printers or Printers and Faxes .
    3. Make sure there is an icon for the printer you are trying to use.
      • If there is no icon and you are connecting via a USB cable, disconnect the cable, and restart the computer. Reinsert the HP software CD and choose Add a device . Connect the unit when prompted by the installer.
      • If there is no icon and it is a wireless connection, run the wireless setup wizard as outlined in the product setup guide, then reinsert the CD and choose Add a device .
      • If there is no icon and it is an Ethernet connection, reinsert the CD and choose Add a device .

Solution three: Check that the Digital Imaging Monitor is running

NOTE: If you chose a custom install and did not select HP Digital Imaging Device Functions, the Digital Imaging Monitor will not be installed. Proceed to Solution five.

    1. Press the CTRL , ALT , and Delete keys at the same time to open the Task Manager.
    2. Look to see if HPQTRA08 and HPQSTE08 are running.
    3. If they are not running, restart the computer and then try again.
    4. If they are still not showing in the list, proceed to Solution four.

Solution four: Check that the HPZPML driver is running

    1. In Windows XP and 2000, click Start , Control Panel , Administrative Services , and then click the Services Icon . Scroll through the list looking for HPZPML to make sure it is set to automatic and that it is running.
    2. In Windows 98/ME, open the Task Manager by pressing CTRL , ALT , and then Delete . The file HPZIPM should be listed.
    3. If the HPZML or HPZIM file are not available, restart the computer. If they still do not show up, proceed to Solution five.

Solution five: Uninstall and reinstall the software

    1. Insert the software CD into the CD-ROM drive of the computer. The software installer should automatically start.
    2. If the software installer does not automatically start, complete the following steps:
      1. Click Start and then Run .
      2. On the Open line, type D:\SETUP , where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
      3. Click OK .
    3. Click Uninstall on the installer screen. If Uninstall is not an option, the software installation was incomplete. Click Install .
    4. Follow the onscreen instructions until the printer software is completely installed.

Causegtabtop.gif There are several reasons this can happen. The device was not connected during the installation of the software, there is no printer icon in the printer folder, the Digital Imaging Monitor is not running, or the HP service PML driver is not running.
