I bought one of these used, The seller got rid of it because he had no volume control.
I bought it for $60. I got it home and pulled it apart finding the seller attempted to change out the volume control and broke the foil trace going to center wiper pad to ground....so that was a easy fix. But the real reason for my comment is , I'd be out playing and for no reason I'd have.... NOTHING TO MY SPEAKER...and this happened several times at various events , rather embarrassing and frustrating...
Well I dug back into the amp again.
This time I found ...apparently a child must have stuffed a plastic bead for making necklaces into the Power input Jack J4 and this was intermittently opening my speaker with vibration of the amp. In my case the bead had deformed the contacts and I had no audio to the speaker when i removed the bead. Order a new Power input jack for pennies and changed it out.
If your having a similar problem with your amp, any amp doesn't have to be a FM212R you might want to start here first.

Good Luck

Mark,

Find another speaker to check it with. I've had several fender amps to blow their speakers during loud playing.

Start with everything in the 12 o' clock position. Adjust one thing at a time until it sounds good to you.

You don't say if you are using a footswitch or not... If you are, the switch, cables and connectors are suspect.

If you are NOT using the controller, the switch contacts on the footswitch jack in the 212 are suspect as being intermittent contacts.

If the contact is not making, the OD switch on the unit will NOT work either.

These jacks, and their contacts are JUNK and often cause problems.

Open the unit and increse the tension of the contact springs.

SOURCE: I have a Fender Frontman 212r amp. The problem

When i turn on my 212R it turns on in drive channel. if footswith is plugged in, then it turns on in the clean channel, but after switching in drive it is impossible to switch it back in clean channel. What could be wrong? Swith position doesnt change anything and it seems like switch is OK.

SOURCE: Hi. Fender Frontman amp suddenly

This is a very simple unit: a power source of an linear design, a preamplifier with tone and distort control and an 10 watt integrated amplifier.
If the unit is completely dead then the fault is in the power section: cable, switch or source. To find out which you must check them all with a simple multimeter: cable and switch with an ohmmeter (the resistance should be 0 if good) and the source with a voltmeter - (check the presence of the 2 voltages (25 and 15 volt) at its outputs.
Here you can find the schematic of a very similar one
http://www.schematicx.com/view-schematic/fender-frontman-15g-15r-guitar-amplifier-schematic/
The only difference is the final amplifier chip.

SOURCE: Hello! I was recently playing

There is something resonating with that note frquency. Often the grille or wiring inside will rattle at certain frequencies. You need a sustained source of these frequencies to find what is causing the noise.

I get no sound at all when I plug in to the input and its not my lead or guitar, how can I fix the amp?

This is probably not a DIY repair. You best take it to a repair shop. Likely the power amp has failed or other common problems are broken connectors/jacks, broken volume pots, and finally circuit board cracks.
