I have 2 mixmax players & the MixMax software will not read the 2

I have the Hannah Montana Mix Max player. I downloaded the software and I can upload music, pics, all good. I got a second one the HSM mix max player and I tried to open it using the software already installed and it will not read the second one. Somehow I was able to pick up the second one through media player but its not as user friendly as the mix max software. Also if I have mp4 or dvd files how can I convert them to readable formats for the mix max players

The software won't install but you don't need it in order to use it. It's a plug in that interfaces with Windows Media Player. Since Vista comes with Windows Media Player 11 you can just go to the sync page to add songs to the player.

Deleting music on a mix-max

As far as why it's stopping it could be several things; there could be a problem with the track itself being corrupted or, depending on where you got the tracks, they could be protected with Digital Rights Management. The memory in the player could also be corrupt as well. I would start with reformatting the memory in the player to correct any potential corruption there might be. Below are three links that will answer both of your questions. Always make sure you properly disconnect the player from your computer to reduce the risk of corrupting the memory and causing these types of problems.

Try going to their website and download the instructions for flashing the firmware on the Mix Max. Here's the link...

If that doesn't fix it I would call their support line and see what else can be done.

Reading a card

It has to make a library file of the contents on the player. It uses that file to display the titles and artists when scrolling through the menus and what not. You'll have to format your player in order to clear it up. This will erase everything and then you can put your songs and stuff back on it. Just make sure that when you do you leave at least 4 megs of space for it to make that library file. Here's a link to the manufacturers instructions on how to format the player.

File (only in video) not recognised

ok i found the firmware through the settings icon on the mixmax.
it is different p.1.3.006 vs p1.0.026.

not sure if this is the reason for the filenames to be showing up as numbers in the newer mixmax.

also i cant modify the connection mode from auto to mtp
