First of all, before you look which one to buy, you need to find out which Video Port does you Mac has, i.e. VGA or DVI or Mini DVI or HDMI. Once it's confirmed, you have to find out the same with your monitor, so that you can buy the appropriate cable.
An RGB port is for a component cable not a VGA cable. A VGA cable, similar to a component cable, only carries a video signal but is a 15 pin cable that nearly all monitors and HDTVs support. Most laptops have a VGA out port. You should be able to connect your laptop to almost any monitor (not sure about your Samsung) with a male to male VGA cable.
The LG 32LD550 television has HDMI and VGA. Your iMac has a mini-DVI output port with support for DVI, VGA, S-video, and composite video connections via adapter. So all you need is either: 1) mini-DVI to VGA adapter. 2) mini-DVI to HDMI adapter.
HDMI is better quality, and so I'd recommend something like this: http://www.amazon.com/PTC-Mini-DVI-Adapter-6ft-Macintosh/dp/B001H0REVK (You may want a longer cable though).
It depends on what sort of monitor you mean, if it's an external monitor for your Mac it would need a mini dvi cable but if the monitor you want to add on is a vga or dvi monitor you will need a mini dvi to vga cable which can be found here : http://store.apple.com/uk/product/M9320G/A . Or a mini dvi to dvi cable found here : http://store.apple.com/uk/product/M9321G/B . If it is a Mac Pro which does not come with a built in screen and it's a primary monitor you want to connect it would probably have a cable with the monitor.
Hope this helps.
there shouldn't be any problem. All you need is an "A-B" (two position) DB15 switcher box and two high quality DB15 VGA cables. make sure you get good cable or else picture will be blurry.
