How to fix the recoil

first you need to remove the recoil from the motor, usually 3 to 4 screws or bolts. then look on the underside where the rope pulley is and see if you can tell if the spring is broken ( one end breaks off 99% of the time) if that's the case you will have to replace the spring first.check that out and let me know.

How to recoil the spring on a pull start cord for a craftsman pressure washer model # 580 750 400

If no repair manual. It could be spring is broken. So I'd look for spring, and instructions to install spring. That should give you a good idea. I suppose the handle came off and lost the rope inside? Probably need new rope too. Same kind of instructions would apply in how to recoil if it's not broken.

How to replace spring on recoil starter

If you are talking about replacing the recoil spring inside the top cover of the motor, it is best to replace the entire top cover. The covers are relatively cheap and once those springs pop out they are difficult to get back in. Even if you do manage to get the spring back in, it is likely to pop out again since damage or wear is usually what makes it pop out in the first place. If you are bent on getting that spring back in, take a look at this video on YouTube: How to Repair Small Engine Recoil Starter

How to fit a recoile spring to my husqvarna stimer

you can pull the rope and it recoils just fine but it's not gripping the engine's crankshaft then most likely it's one of your recoil's starter pawls, the part you'll want to look into is called that, a pawl, and it's either the pawl itself or the spring that attaches to it

The starter cord jammed on recoiling, after attempting got release it the recoil spring rewound, now the cord and spring are interlocked. I'm looking to strip the recoil mechanism but I believe I

Its an easy opperation to undertake if you know how. Take note of where everything goes during the stripping down of the recoil assembly. Use eye protection when trying to recoil the rewind spring, they have a tendency to jump back out at you while coiling them back in. easiest way is to start by putting the hooked end into the plastic housing and work your way inwards coiling it back in. Then place the starter cord roller in on top, adding the one or two black sliders, the washer and the spring clip to hold it all in place.

How do I install a recoil spring ?

Sometimes the hook at the end of the starter spring has broken off from rust or has straightened itself out. What I do if I don't have time to get a new spring is make myself a hook and attach it to the notch. Then you have to manually wind the spring in the right direction and hope that the spring doesn't unravel on you. Wear safety goggles for that!
If I need to get it started without the recoil spring, I just wrap the starting rope around the engine and start it that way until I have time to get a new part.
