Have switched off cleaned out restarted no difference
Sounds like you need a new thermostat for your fridge. If your fridge wont shut off on its own than yes its most likely your T-stat. Hope this helps

From the symptoms ,I would recommend that you have a new thermostat fitted.
This is the cheapest option., fig's do not go wrong that often

It is behind the knob your are adjusting to change the temperature.
It is very easy for me. Don't know how easy for you and your electrician friend.

Let this unit completely defrost and thaw(sevral hours) which might bring it back with little or no additional repairs.These units will lock up on excessive ice and will not circulate...good luck

tip unit over on side,placing an old blanket or similar on floor under unit.there are 3 little bolt/screws holding each bracket to the underside of unit,unscrew these/lay brackets on floor, slide door down off pin on underside of top.and unscrew this pin.change over from right to left replace door onto pin replace bottom hingepin,adjust door for" squareness " and tighten all screws lift back upright and switch on...will take a little time to settle down temp wise.... make sure seal sits tight all round good luck ..geoff
