Hi, I just bought this new Dell LapTOP with the Window Vista Home Premium and I need to connect it with our wireless printer HP Photosmart series 5100 - C-5180 All-in-One. I had to download the software and STILL THE PRINTER DOES NOT WANT TO INSTALL. I went to see an sales rep where I bought it, at Staples, and they couldn't do it neither & suggested me to get a hold of your support service as you would be able to solve my problem. Please let me know if I can to call instead as I need it to be connected by Tuesday, Feb 19th. Thank you for your support.
LouiseMy HP Photosmart C5180 was originally installed to a Windows XP, but now I have a Vista. Could you direct me to a way of connecting up the two items.

To start download the drivers here: HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers.
After download is complete, unplug printer usb cable.
Click right button of mouse on the file you just downloaded and chose "run as administrator" from the dropdown menu.
If your security software (eg Norton or Mcafee) pops up asking authorisation, authorise the request from printer installer software.
When asked by the printer setup wizard plug in teh printer USB, and later set up printer as default when asked.

Vista supports wireless autoconfiguration. To add a wireless printer. Click Control Panel>Printers>Add a Printer (its at the top of the box)>select Add a network, Wireless or Bluetooth Printer. Just make sure your printer is turned on so Vista can recognize it. Just follow the instructions from there. If you have any questions let me know. You will have to get the vista update and, you will also have to download the vista compatible drivers from the hp support page as well

Most of you guys are having issues regarding installing the SOftware using the CD or even using the Downloaded software from the website. With this, I would like to make sure that i understood all your concerns so that I will know where to start with the possible solution. Could YOu Please give me guys the Exact Error MEssage that you encountered when trying to install the Software? Or what really happens and what percentage did it stopped?
