Dometic/Duotherm propane furnace won't fire up

We have a Duotherm propane furnace (model # 65390-064) in our trailer. we shut it down for the spring/summer season last year by turning the thermostat to the off position. when i turned the furnace on this fall by setting the thermostat to 65 degrees, all i got was a click from the relay. the unit will not fire up. the tank is full and the valve at the heater is on. i know there's gas because the fridge is propane and it runs off the same line and there is no problem with it.

Is this an electronic ignition, hot surface, or standing pilot system?

If this unit has a spark ignition you may just need to clean the flame sensor. It is a metal rod protruding in the path of the flame.

I replace an old Dometic fridge with a new RM2620 last year. when I run propane the trailer smells of after burn propane. i have checked for leaks and can't find any. I think it is a venting problem?

Yes, I would check your venting. Shut it down and open the access to the back of the fridge. The venting should be apparent and clean of course. Propane has a high water vapor content and contains Carbon Monoxide and should not be burned unvented in small spaces. Good Luck

How do i bypass the furnace and still use the duotherm 57915.531

Do you have the digital thermostat? You can tell the thermostat you have no furnace. You should be able to disconnect power at the furnace, but the 12v power for the circuit board is provided by the furnace circuit on some systems so make sure you disconnect the wire going to the furnace and leave the wire feeding the circuit board.
