You need to take the drain pump off and clear whatever is in there. Pull the dishwasher out, remove the bottom cover or gain access to drain pump. Thats what it sounds like

SOURCE: NO WATER COMING THROUGH ON DISHWASHER JUST LOUD BUZZING NOISE

Check the instruction manual, Smeg often use the program lights to give an error code.

You'll have to first ensure that the valve is open where the supply gets its water from the sink supply, and water is getting to the dishwasher. There is a garden hose type swivel adapter after the valve, right? Close the valve tightly- even if it scrapes the wood - and then unscrew that hose coupling and see if the hose is full of water. Look there for a strainer inside the hose that is clogged. Clean it. If that is good, reconnect and ensure it's tight.Open the valve. Now check the dishwasher to see if it's getting water. Then at the point where the hose enters the dishwasher is a spring loaded hose ring coupling, right? If not, and there's another garden hose adapter, remove that (after turning off the water again)and see if there's a strainer there. If water is supplied to the dishwasher okay, then it is probably the electric solenoid valve inside the base of the dishwasher.

SOURCE: NO WATER COMING THROUGH ON DISHWASHER JUST LOUD BUZZING NOISE

The buzz that you hear is the water line solenoid. It probably is not opening up to let the water through. You should replace this solenoid and it will fix your problem as long as you have water coming up to the diswasher's solenoid valve.

SOURCE: loud clanking noise in dishwasher

Most likely the motor as food caught in the sump would not make a noise you described.

My Indesit IDL40 dishwasher, loud bang with slight burning smell but still working?

Any burning smell is not good. Indicates that something in there is too hot and perhaps melting something. Could even catch fire......

Could very well be that whatever is responsible for the noise can be causing the problemo.

Loud sounds

Many Frigidaire dishwashers come with the promise of being the "quietest dishwasher in its class," according to Frigidaire. However, a quiet dishwasher doesn't necessarily mean that the dishwasher is silent, as some noises are normal. It can take some troubleshooting at times to determine if a noise coming from the dishwasher is typical or if it indicates a larger problem Listen for the sound of water filling and draining throughout the wash cycle. These sounds are normal and do not indicate an issue.

  • 2 Pay attention to the drain motor, which operates at the beginning of each cycle. This noise should be fairly quiet and should not sound like a loud, grinding or banging sound.
  • 3 Note that the sound will change when the wash cycle moves between the lower and middle spray arms. This sound should be temporary and fairly quiet.
  • 4 Look for hard items in the dishwasher grinder or filter if a loud crunching, buzzing or grinding sound is heard. The dishwasher can typically grind up these items within one or two cycles, but the item may be lifted out and discarded to eliminate the sound.
  • 5 Remove the bottom rack and spray arms from the bottom of the dishwasher if there is a loud noise coming from the dishwasher that does not resolve itself. Look inside for the impeller, which is round and spins. Remove any debris that may be clogging up the impeller or pump.

Our new LG dishwasher makes loud clunking noise

I believe this is a brand new dishwasher. Please listen carefully to determine of the sound you hear (clunk) is being made inside the dishwasher or is it being made near by. Most times, the problem is that the hot water pipe is baking the noise when the dishwasher closes the water inlet valve ... and the pipe goes "clunk"
I have not had an LG dishwasher make a clunking sound inside itself when the cycle changes. Also, because this dishwasher is so very quiet (well insulated) the pipe banging would be louder than something inside the Dishwasher.
If you have access to the hot water pipe, listen very near it when the cycle changes for the sound. Follow that pipe (hot water) pipe back and insulate it at the point it is banging. (or get a plumber to evaluate and resolve.)
Please get back to me with what you find, OK?
    Good Luck!
