The following guide describes how I managed to make my Sony DVP-NS705V DVD player multi-region.
There are no guarantees that you will be able to do the same. Be
aware that you will probably void any warranty you have and possibly
even break the player.
Put shortly, you proceed at your own risk.
Introduction
First of all, the Sony DVP-NS705V can be made multi-region simply
by applying appropriate service codes, you do not need to install a so
called "mod chip".
This supposedly applies to the entire NS-series of Sony DVD
players. There are some encouraging reports out there supporting this,
but nothing has been verified by me. Again, if you choose to apply this
guide to any DVD player, you do so at your own risk.
If you do find that this procedure works on another model, please drop me a line at [email protected] and let me know. Include the exact model number and original region of your player.
Update: Some users have reported success on the following players:

The infrared service codes required to make the update are
available on the Internet. Unfortunately, not many people have an
appropriate device to enter the codes into. You basically need a
programmable remote (Philips Pronto, One-For-All) or a PDA (Palm, iPAQ)
with suitable software.
This guide shows you how to make the update with a regular PC equipped with an IRDA port.
The procedure
1. Download the winsamp -package from Blank Frank's site.
file and place it in the same directory as the package above.
This file holds the five necessary IR codes converted to the format
used by Blank Frank's winsamp.exe. Please do not bother Frank with
questions concerning this particular procedure.
4. Boot up your PC from the floppy disk and run winsamp.exe.
If your IRDA port doesn't appear as COM2 you may override this by
using an appropriate command line switch. For example, use COM1 by
running 'winsamp C1'.
5. Press the 'r' key to load up the codes into winsamp.
6. Make sure your DVD player is in standby mode and your IRDA port is within range.
7. Run the IR codes from 1 to 5 by pressing Enter on each corresponding button.
8. Your DVD player should start up and display the text "SUCCESS".
9. Repeat step 7. Your player should return to standby mode.

The reputed models will not play these being pirated versions and so it is best to choose originals to be played in your Sony player.
Unfortunately most local models will play these and so must not be taken as fault in the player.
May I ask what code you are looking for. If it is a code to unlock the region to make it region free there is no code out yet. Also it is almost imposable to unlock portable DVD players.
The Sony DVP-NS575P DVD player is not intended for Blu-Ray media playback. You will need to purchase a Blu-Ray player to enjoy these types of discs. The good news about Blu-Ray is most models support DVD playback as well as Blu-Ray, and these players are not terribly expensive.
There is no mention anywhere in the user manual for this model DVD player about Blu-Ray support. Also in the same manual, this player cannot play discs that do not conform to NTSC standards or which correspond to the region code of the player itself. (basically model limitations)
If your DVD player works fine overall, the good news is it didn't cost you anything to ask, and no workshop charges to worry about - perhaps consider a Blu-Ray player later on if you really want one - keep the DVD player as a spare unit.
John~ check formats with dvd player can be found in mannual - then burn dvd to suit mp3 or mp4 would normally work~ you can go to Realplayer.com to get tool to download on pc to this job. also try Divx .com / utorret.com or if you can get a Silvercrest dvd player this can also play pc dvd.in may different formats. hi my name is mark, the model DVP-NS575P is a player. it will play DVD-RW-/-R, DVD+RW/+R ,DVD-VR, JPEG, CD-R/CD-RW,and MP3 discs. hope this helps. thanks for your question.
1) Turn your DVD off. 2) Use the remote control and press: - Display - Top Menu - Clear - Power This should power the device into Service Mode. 3) Choose option 2 and then choose option 4. 4) There should be two fields: Input Code and Current Code, each one with 5 chars long. Type: 12450 Then push zero on all the 5 places of the first and the second field. Push ENTER. 5) There should be a zero on the device display, meaning that all regions are free. 6) Press POWER to turn it off and you're done.
Try this,
1) Plug the DVD Power Cord to the wall jack, but DO NOT Turn On the player;
2) With the Remote Control, press: Display, Top Menu, Clear and Power;
3) It will enter in the Service Mode;
4) Choose option 2 and then 4;
5) It will ask for an Input Code and Current Code (its 5 spaces), press 1245 and then Zero;
6) Leave all Zero erasing 1245, and on the bottom field all Zero too, then press Enter;
7) So the DVD Display will show a Zero (all Region-Free),
then press Power to Turn Off.
Please ask Sony India for region codes change. In my opinion there is no way to change region code in Sony DVD Players.
