Have a look in the bios when your turn your pc on, have a look and see if there is an option to turn on-board sound on or off.

If you have put in another sound card it might be work taking that one out and try turning on-board sound on to see if it works.

Then put your sound card back in and turn on-board sound off and see if that lets it accept your sound card.

I'm just thinking that if your on-board sound is broken but the option is still turned on in your bios it might be causing a problem with your system recognising your sound card.

I hear no sound in my pc

Are you using the same operating system? It seems the driver is incompatible with the operating system you are using. Try downloading the latest driver from the Intel support website.

One other option is to check if your onboard audio device is enabled in the BIOS. If it is not, the device won't be detected of course.

We have no sound coming from our PC. There are

To check, click windows start button, point to computer, click manage, then look for device manager. If you see an exclamation or "x" mark on your audio device this means that your audio driver is not properly installed.

If audio no error marked sign and says that your audio driver is ok, uninstall it then re-install the audio driver.

My laptop do not detect my sound card

It appears that you have installed the wrong sound driver.

You need to download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require.

Use this link to download the drivers

Microphine not working with Microsoft UAA Function for High Defin

I bet you have to uninstall the sound card from device manager first and the restart the computer. Then try to install the sound driver again. If that does not work you may have to force install the driver from the add new hardware wizard in control panel.

I am curious, do you have a dedicated graphics card installed from ATI / AMD?

Newer ones have a built-in high-def audio also.

Sound problem

First of all when you installed the sound card and turned on your pc did your operating system detect the sound card. If it did then you would need to install the software driver. In some cases the operating system will have it built it and configure it on its own. If you installed the software and it you still got no sound, Go to device manager and find the sound card. If its there, right click and update driver. If is still does not do it then right click and remove driver. Restart your computer and it should detect your card and then reinstall software. now if it still does not work or detect your card then possibility bad sound card. Hope thats helpfull to you.

Sound problem

Hi babupbt, just post the model No# (you can find it printed in white on the motherboard or get it from the compaq manual). Compaq list everything on white stickers through out the PC.
I'll find all the drivers you need. (What operating system are you planning to install)? XP home, XP Pro?
