Navigate to the right with your central button and here you are navigating downwards: 1. - message alert type chooser, 2. - message alert tone, 3. - message alert repetition, 4. - email alert type, 5. - email alert tone, email alert repetition, and finaly, 6. - alert tone volume. I hope this will help. I had the same problem with the message alert light not turning off. I have phone service through the internet. I would clear messages from my base unit and alert would continue to flash. I went into my internet message center and found a few old messages there. Why they got there is beyond me, but after clearing them my alert light went out and stayed off. I disabled messages to internet inbox and now it flashes only when I get messages to my base unit until I listen or clear them. Easy fix to annoyance I've had for some time.
