Amana Ptac wont stop blowing air until i push the off button. (hotel type).

Ok my amana ptac wont stop blowing air until i push the off button. I put the temperature at 66 and it wont stop blowing, i waited all day to turn off and it didnt. Do i put a certain setting? if i do, how? Thanks

Hi,
If you reset the GFCI button and then when you go to turn it on the button pops again, then you have a short inside the units probably in the fan motor or the compressor..

Check to see if your compressor is running. Thre are 5/16 screws on either side of the unit holding it to the case. Take those out and you can get to the cpmpressor. These are not complicated units but you may have to have a service tech look at it for you. I do sell a lot of these PTAC units so if your compressor is running you have leak or bad compressor. Russ
