I have the same problem as the original poster does. I have no idea how to get the base/stand actually out/separated from the monitor. I have tried pulling pretty hard and it wont budge.
There are 4-6 screws that must be removed. look on the rear of the TV for screws at the base of fairly deep holes. They require a #2 phillips head screw driver. Remove all of the screws and then get a friend to hold the base whild you pull the tv straight up about 6-7 inches. Joe
First, lay your monitor on a flat surface, with the screen facing down, and the stand base oriented towards you. Then, just pull the stand off. Make sure your pulling force is parallel to the flat surface.
I tried to pull the base stand out - no luck. I tried to wedge a screw driver in - no luck and it looked like the screwdriver could damage the plastic if pushed harder. I finally used a wide metal paint scrapper. It went in where the screwdriver would not go and moved to base enough to allow it to pulled out the rest of the way.
A difficult one as Samsung do not recommend that this uint is wall mounted but there should be 4 screws attaching the stand to the base of the TV chasssi but if you do remove it you will end up with a gap in the cover as Samsung do not provide blanking covers to cover it up.
GENTILITY lay that set face down on a table covered with a thick blanket. There should be 4 long threaded bolts near the bottom that fasten the legs of the stand inside the framework of the set.. Remove these and the stand should slide right out.
