Audio with digital channels, no audio with analog channels

I just got a new Sharp Aquos LC46D65U. It says "mono" for audio type for the analog channels and I don't get any sound. However, the digital channels get audio. I can't find any option that allows for the analog channel audio to work. Any suggestions?

Tried the audio button as suggested, still no sound in analog. Also tried unplugging, and then holding in the power button on the set for 45 seconds, then plugging the tv back in, and still no analog sound. Tried rescanning channels to no avail.

    Any other suggestions?

I have the same TV and tonight the same thing happened to me. No sound on analog cable but sound on digital cable and pc imput. After trying other fixes I just unpluged for 15 minutes and problem solved. Hope it workes for you.

I was getting a constant mono setting for all channels with no option to set it to stereo. I called Sharp, and they said that in order to receive stereo sound, you cannot use a standard coaxial cable. You need an S-Video or HDMI cable. This not only resolves the mono audio issue but also resolves the analog (vs. stereo) issue. Hope this helps!!

I think page 16 in your owner's manual says to press the audio button on your remote. It maybe stuck on SAP with no sound.

My Sharp Flat Panel Television LC19SB25U has Picture but No Audio

Sharp has had a few problems with their audio boards, not finding any bulletins on this model, but a few complaining about low audio on amazon reviews section. If using an antenna you will experience some channels with low audio. If using cable you should get good sound on all channels..
the 9.1 and 9.2 are digital channels and sharp does display them for at least a few seconds when you switch to that channel. Check all your setting in the audio to Stereo never SAP. To options for you are get a cable box, first check in the back and see if there is another coax in, if there are two try both rescanning after connecting.

Sharp Aquos LC-32D44U stuck in ""Mono"

I dont know if this will work for you, but its worth a try. I had the same problem.

1. I changed to a station that was having the problem (an analog station with MONO displayed on the screen).
2. I unplugged the TV for about 15-20 minutes. (I was thinking maybe something needed to refresh, so thats why i unplugged the tv.)
3. I plugged the tv back in and voila. The station showed up as MONO then immediately swtiched to STEREO.

After that, i was able to use the AUDIO feature on the remote to actually change from MONO to SAP, etc.

Ive had my Sharp for about 5 months now, and thats the first time its happend to me. Luckily, i solved the problem...this time.

Hope it helps.

Sharp aquos a box with mono and stereo and channel 3

Commercials are broadcast in lower quality than the programs, and it is normal for the signal to change when going to commercials. If you are watching ATSC you will notice also the video changes from HD (widescreen) to SD (normal) as well.

Missing Audio

your remote should have a audio setting button to go from stereo/mono/sap. Also, there should be a setting within the menus... you just have to find it.

Sharp Aquos LC-37D62U Audio Warning

Usually the settings can't be turned off and the audio settings are searching for whatever is being outputted from the program itself whether mono or stereo. It is nuisance I know.

I CAN'T GET MY AQUOS LC-52SE94U TO RECEIVE A DIGITAL READ ONLY AN ANALOG ONE AND THE PICTURE ISN'T AS SHARP AS IT SHOULD BY

I called Sharp and they said that you cannot use a coaxial cable. You need to use either an S-Video or HDMI cable. That fixs not only the digital but also the mono audio issue (instead of stereo).
