Google's preference page allows users to customize settings and options that help utilize searches to the viewer's needs. One of those options is Google's filtering tool. This tool contains three filtering options that will filter your results completely, with moderate safety, or it will not filter the search results at all. Google's filtering preferences also filter and determine what kind of keywords and keyword phrases appear in the Google search bar.

Click on "Preferences" on the left side of the search bar of the Google Home Page. You will be directed to Google's "Preferences" page. Scroll down until you locate the "Safe Search Filtering" section of the page. You will see three safe search options: "Use Strict Filtering," "Use Moderate Filtering," and "Do Not Filter My Search Results." Click the "Do Not Filter My Search Results" option to check the option and click the "Save Preferences" button to save your changes.

Get rid of google searches

You can choose another website as default website, or use Firefox browser. I think it's hard to get rid of it, because when you want to search something, you have to type Google.com.

Why does google "redirect" my search

Google shouldn't redirect your searches. This sounds to be malware which sometimes can be difficult to get rid of. I've had success with the free version of Malwarebytes. Download and install that.

Next, reboot the computer into 'Safe Mode'. When you see the bios screen (usually has the manufacturer's logo) begin pressing/tapping 'F8'. Shortly after a list will come up asking how you want to start the computer. Select 'Safe Mode with Networking'.

Once you get back to your desktop run a full scan with Malwarebytes and have it fix any thing it finds. This scan can take anywhere from twenty minutes to over two hours based on how many files you have and how fast your processor is.

Once it's fixed/cleaned everything reboot and let the computer load normally. Hopefully this has gotten rid of it. If not you may have to back up all of your personal files and do a system restore. Often this is the easiest, yet most inconvenient, way of getting rid of a virus/malware.

I hope this is helpful and that you don't have to do a system restore. Let me know if you have any questions.
