I have a graphire 4 tablet and pen. every time that the pen hits the tablet, ie if i click anything there is an audible clicking noise. this is driving me insane! i work in photoshop and can not take this noise as i am tapping my tablet very often....
Ok... so i've just been fiddling around with my wacom settings... and i noticed that while i didn't see any sound options when i go to the wacom tablet settings through the windows control panel, i do have them in the pen office program... i had the sound box ticked, so i just unticked it...
continued...
even when it was ticked, i didn't notice any clicking noises, so i'm guessing you need to go into the windows sound and audio settings in the control panel... you can choose which sounds you want to hear, or not in the sounds tab... now that's in xp... i think it's pretty much the same in vista, but if you can't find it, let me know and i'll turn on my son's laptop and have a browse through to see where you have to go.
let me know if you need more help with this.

you're welcome, Maryam... looks like you found your solution... if you still want to use those programs, you can probably find some settings to turn that sound of, as i found in the penoffice. :-)
happy click-free photo-shopping!

Try going into sound settings, on YouTube it should show you how to stop it. ;)

i believe that it is coming out of my speakers. but, i have turned the sound off in my tablet and pen options...
i am working in windows vista and when i turn my mian volume down the clicking noise does go away. but, i want to hear other sounds from my computer so turning of the volume only helps me in the short term:(

Thanks! I figured out that the problem was actually from either corel painter or the nik color effects cds that came with the tablet.. I had unclicked the clicking sound from the beginning and it was still happening. I decided to uninstall both of those programs to see if they were effacting this and lo and behold it went away! Thanks for all of your time and help, it was greatly appreciated!

ok, merrum...
i have a wacom tablet, but have no sound options in mine... and i've had a look through the sounds available in the windows xp control panel, but i need to know what your os is... mac, windows xp- vista- 2000, linux......?
to be sure where the clicking is coming from, turn the sound on your computer's speakers completely off, either by silencing the volume or by physically turning the speakers off, to see if this noise persists, if so, we'll try some troubleshooting.

hi merrum
i'm sorry, i don't understand exactly where the sound is coming from, is it the pen itself or is it coming out of your speakers?
Detailed answer:
On macOS, the clicking sound effect is on by default, and Wacom hasn't provided an option to turn it off in the Wacom preferences. Here's what I did to turn it off:
1. Open "Wacom Desktop Center" from the "Wacom Tablet" folder in "Applications"
2. Select "Backup & Restore settings to Computer on the left menu, then click "Backup settings" from the options on the right side. Choose a name and path for your backup file. Quit "Wacom Desktop Center".
3. From Finder, right click the backup you just created and "Show Package Contents". Open the file "com.wacom.wacomtablet.prefs" in Textedit or some other basic text editor.
4. Find the text line starting with "Clicksound" (around line 45). Modify it so it says "false" instead of "true".
Save (cmd + S) and quit the text editor
5. Now load the backup by double clicking on it.
Enjoy the silence. You're welcome!
