Hi, Hotpoint FDW60 got a concealled element.
You need to unplug and disconnect the dw, lay it flat on its back and remove the bottom tray (depending on the final letter for your model (FDW60G, FDW60P, FDW60T) you might need to remove the side panels and kickboard to release the bottom tray). Carefull with the floater switch. You should be able to locate the element straight away. Replace it and reverse the process.
Cheers

Fast and delicate lights flashing on Hotpoint fdw60

Them 2 lights flashing indecates a heating fault.

For this you will bee to pull machine out and remove the side panels. From there locate the heater and with a multimeter check to see if the heaters open circuit. If so you will need to replace the heater element. If the heaters fine then on some models theres a thermostat next to the heater. Check this aswell if fitted

FDW60 Fast40 and Delicate50 flash

heating circuit open is the fault code.
checks to be carried out to make sure of diagnosis

Check the circuit of the heating element (26 ohms).
Check for an open circuit heater cut-out.
Check pressure switch open circuit (connections 11-14).
Check wiring and connections between module card, pressure switch and heater.
If all above is OK, replace module card.

Heater Replacement
1.Remove top cover as in.
2.Remove the left hand side panel.
3.Using suitable floor protection carefully lay dishwasher on right hand side; this may result in
water spillage from the air break unit.
4.Remove the base panel.
5.Disconnect the wiring.
6.Slacken the clips securing the hoses.
7.Replace in reverse order (using jubilee clips not existing)

The thermostat has gone on my hotpoint cd00 tumble dryer and I need to replace it, I have ordered a new one, the only problem is I cant seem to remove the old one. Please can anybody help. Thanks, Kate.

Depends on which thermostat you are talking about, as there is more than one thermostat.
2 thermostats are located on the heater element itself, located at bottom rear of dryer, if you cannot see the stats, then you need to remove the heater, and they are located behind the element, be careful, as it is very easy to break the element supports, and then you will need a new heater.
Trust this helps solve your problem, And GOOD LUCK.

Hotpoint aquarious vented tumble dryer no longer heats up can you just replace the heating element

Yes you can, but I would test it first to make sure it is faulty, as quite often it is a thermostat prob.

This is a bad control board that if replaced will only repeat in a short time .My advice is to contact the manufacturer and complain, you have the right as a consumer to do so.

Hotpoint FDW60 heater replacement

The heater is the black element at the bottom of the tub. you can see it when you open the door, there are 2 wires attached to it under the dishwasher along with 2 nuts and some rubber washers to keep it from leaking, It is a simple job to replace. Remove the wires undo the the nuts that hold it to the tub, and there may be some brackets inside the dishwasher that secure it in place. remove the element and replace it. Install in the reverse order you took it apart.

Hotpoint fdw60 fast and delicate lights flashing

Heater elements on FDW 60 do not last long at all, I am on my 3rd. You are better of buying a heating element and a decent limescale filter, otherwise it will keep happening. The flow through element builds up limescale, causing the element/thermostat to over heat.

Its a shame as they are quite a good dishwasher. Hotpoint 5 year parts warranty a waste of time. £90 call out charge.

The last one lasted 3 moths before delciates & fast light started flashing.

You can get the elements online for £40
