Tv goes off and on.It have alots of clicking noise sounds too?Yes.The board that call the Ballast board it is also dead too.The Ballast board only job it is to help to ignite the tv projection lamp.Tries websites like Partstore.com,Ebay.com to buy the Ballast board for the replacement.
They are available at http://www.encompass.com and are not that difficult to replace. This is a common problem with the LG units and don't be surprised if it takes a while to get a board.

Only the main board can cause that problem. try to get a software upgrade first and /or replace the board software upgrade available to download at www.lg.com
it may be the main board as per LG when a tech came over to my house to look at it the p/n is 6871VMMZL7A . you see i had picture and no sound, but i also had no picture with component inputs. but when the test call his LG support hot line they told him that. but unfortunatly he screw up my tv more. because it now does not power up. I think he connect the wrong cable
HAd the same problem with mine, but was under warrenty, they took it to the shop and had to replace the Engine if you need the specific engine name I can look it up, now the bad news if I would have had to pay it would be over a grand for the part alone.
WARNING...The ballast can output 3000volts when it initially fires the lamp. Without the proper test equipment you could injure or even kill yourself.
You've verified that the lamp is good and now suspect the ballast?
