The HDMI connector broke loose from its mounting inside the tv.
The rear HDMI connector broke loose from its mounting on the board inside the tv. Can the HDMI connector be reattached to the board or should the entire board be replaced?
Re: The HDMI connector broke loose from its mounting...
It is possible for the HDMI connector to be re-soldered back on. However as the pin connections are small & delicate it is possible that some of the pads on the board may have been damaged, if this is the case then a new board would be required.

can be re-installed - but may take some experience to do it safely, and restore useability to your HDMI connector. get a repairman to give you an estimate.
If the cable box has an HDMI or video output, use one of them to connect to the TV instead. The female coax connector is not easily repaired and you can't reroute or adapt anything to fix it. You will need to replace the TV main board if the HDMI/video connection is not an option.
I would also just buy a new board .BUT keep the old board for parts! This way if anything goes out you can compare components on the board etc and figure out what's wrong and also use the parts for repairs when you need them. Some of those boards HDMI ports have the tiniest solder joints and you can easily bridge them make the board useless anyway. These things are way more fragile than the old CRT tv's. Just be a little more careful next time.
You can try purchasing a new signal board, the best thing to do is to contact a repair shop a ask them to install a new HDMI connector, most shops will have boards around and can get one.
If you are talking about the part connected to the tv, you need a new part. Investigate ! In the meantime use a S Vidio plug, or the red, white and yellow cables to get you going.

hi there, you can just re solder the points onto the board once more without buying a completely new board. just remove the board and solder the contact point back on the board itself.that should fix it up for ya. thx for using fixya:)
This is a common problem and as long as the internal PC board inside the tuner is not broken, the connector can be replaced. The connector should not cost more than about $5. ANy local service shop should be able to replace it for you.
