F5 flashing and stops washing?

I have a GHW9150D Whirlpool washing machine 4 years old. Have never had a problem with it since day one but now all of a sudden the machine stops washing and a F5 is flashing. What does this mean and can I fix it myself? I'm pretty handy and can't afford a service repair man right now.

The "Wash" button flashes shortly after the cycle starts then stops. The fuse box was checked and the machine started then the problem returned in a few sesonds .

That # is a part # and not a model #, but Most likely drain Pump is defective or obstructed, or actuator is bad.

When this happens press and hold any key down for one minute to clear f5 code

f5 is the ntc for heater , this needs to be replaced or check for broken wire that supplies it .

Possible that the INLET filter or valve is faulty. check the voltage at the time of the cycle to confirm

Whirlpool 6th sense washing machine- door light keeps flashing & it will not start the cycle,have to turn off the machine for the door to open .the machine is 4yrs old nxt month.

Hi could be 2 things
Motor brushes worn but at 4 years old unlikely
Or as mine turned out to be dry joints on the controller board just fixed it tonight I also replaaced the brushes on the motor as my machine is 6 years old and were worn

F5 error code

when F5 comes up on the Duets it means "water temperature Sensor Error". what you need to check is the sensor, (which you have indicated has been changed), the heating element and the element relay. check all the connections to the Sensor, element and the relay first. hope this helps.

it is more than likely the carbon brushes on the motor need replacement
