After using this attachment once, the square hole that the attachment fits into isn't turning properly. Is this a temporary problem that will go away when it cools down, or is there something wrong with my mixer?
Its a 325 watt mixer. If you grind or mix dough often you may consider getting something stronger or turn it off every ten minutes or so and let it cool down. We burned a 325 and got the 575 watt "600" series and no problems ever since. I know these things are expensive. The 325 is more mixer than grinder. The attachements fit ANY size mixer but some are not recommended for use in all mixers.
If its quiting see my posts on "doesn't run at sitr" and "Removing the motor cover" To get inside and clean those contacts.

first time using the grinder attachment (to grind cooked meat using the corse disk) after about 15 minutes use the grinder attachment made a squeaking noise. stopped to allow mixer to cool and tried again but attachment would not turn nor would the mixer head. opened mixer to check for stripped gears. No stripped gears but gear for the attachment seems to be locked in place. need to remove or unstick but not sure how
Hi. Were you using it to grind something, if so what? What speed setting were you using? Does the mixer work OK in other modes (beater or dough hook). Did you hear a somewhat loud crack when it stopped working? Your answers to these questions will help me to offer a solution for you. Thanks. ricardok45
