SOURCE: neptune washer walking across the floor

We have no complaints about the maytag neptune, except that it walks across the floor. My wife just called Maytag at 866-616-2601 , and was treated great, they are sending some parts to fix the problem, free of charge, and we are to get them installed free of charge when parts arrive. When you call that number, ask for someone who specializes in the vibration problems. Our maytag neptune is model # mah8700aww.

SOURCE: Walking Washer

The best way to fix this problem is to adjust the front legs while the machine is spinning a full wash load.  Put in a load of clothes and run the machine to get the clothes nice and wet.  It will take about 5 minutes to get them completely wet.  Next, turn the washer off.  Now, turn the washer back on and push the spin button to select the extra fast speed.  You washer will go into a drain mode and then begin to toss the load into a balance spin mode.  Once the washer is spinning the clothes, check the balance of the unit by pushing the front left corner of the washer towards the right rear corner and right front corner towards the left rear corner.  If the sound of the washer quiets down on one side vs the other side, adjust the front leg to quiet that side.  Do not attempt to adjust the rear legs as they do not require adjustments at all.  Everything adjusts on the front legs.
This procedure works if the floor is sturdy enough.  If the floor is old and the wood is weak, it will not work.

SOURCE: Washer is "walking" during the spin cycle

how old is your washer? Is it bran new? Read your owners manual it will tell you how to properly level your washer and what type of floor you need. Raised surfaces will cause more of a vibration and with front loaders this is common because they spin 10 times faster than your regular top loader. but if it is banging itself inside and you hear the drum hitting the side of the cabinet you may be having a diffrent issue. Is the washer basket tilted to one side real low? Is the washer on a pedistal. If it is on a pedistal and on a raised surface YES this will cause way more vibration than if it was on a solid slab floor. What I do to eliminate walking is I cut 2 squares of mesh You know the stuff you put under rugs so that you do not slip. Well I cut 2 squares of it it is rubber and i put them under the front 2 feet so it give a little more grab so the washer does not walk. Or you can get some dampening pads that are made for front load washers. I would have to research that part number if you want me to. Let me know

SOURCE: Front load washer shakes violently during spin cycle

On something like this you will need to remove the washer wrap to inspect the suspension springs & base assembly. Please see the link provided for accessing the inside of the washer. Be sure the shipping pins have been removed. The tub should float freely.

Maytag washing machine walks across floor during spin cycle

Did you set the back feet before leveling? On most units to set and lock the back feet you need to pull the top towards you so that the back is raised off the floor, then set it down again, this will release the feet and lock then down. The you level the two front feet. After this is done you must make sure your load is balanced. Distribute the items as evenly as you can in the tub. Once it gets to the spin cycle if its walking or shaking a lot, stop it and redistribute the items more evenly in the tub. Also try not to overload the unit or combining many heavy items with few light ones. If this is a new machine, did you remove the shipping locks from the back before using it? They have plastic strips attached to them, make sure they have all been removed, as well as any shipping bolts.

Washer walks across floor on spin cycle and my level says its level

If the level is registering the machine as level, then you probably have an unbalanced load that is causing it to "walk." When it starts walking, lift the lid, wait until the spinning stops and redistribute the articles in the basket. I hope this helps. I have a Maytag 3000 washer and I have adjusted the feet numerous times to keep it from walking. Do you have any suggestions? The floor is good but likes to walk during spin cycle.

did you level the unit first as per owners manual, then after its level did you turn the "jamb huts" on the legs with a 9/16" open ended wrench above the feet up against the cabinet bottom?,if you dont do this step the vibration in spin will turn the legs again and un-level the unit

Model MAH9700 - Washer travels across floor in the spin cycle

I suppose that the repairmen would know than I would, but I do know that any washing machine that is not level will walk and vibrate and really shutter on the spin cycle. I would try to level (using a level on the top part of the machine that is flat, if there is such a portion) the machine so that all four feet (pads) are secure with their locking nuts up against the body so that they can't turn and cause the machine to go out of level.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

On the spin cycle my miele walks acrossed the floor

make sure you loads are balanced, put heaviest clothes in first... if you can rock it by hand then the legs are not adjusted properly. If you stand 2 feet away from front of machine, jump up and down and see it move the floor is soft and you need 2 sheets of plywood to make 1 1/2 inches put under the machine

Washer is "walking" during the spin cycle

I have the same Duet that vibrates heavily during spin cycle. Leveled the unit with no success (our unit is mounted on the high base). Long story short, I went to Lowes and purchased a package of 4"X5" self stick foam rubber pads called Grippers by Wasman Consumer Group and paid a low price of $3.50. Since the washer walked forward, I cut one of the two Pads in the package in half, removed the sticky side paper protector and centered a half, sticky side to washer pad, to each front washer pad. The problem was solved.

I made sure the round floor pads of the washer were tight and the unit was level before attaching the Grippers. Hope this helps.
