Was getting great photo quality. Upon end of life of drum indicator, replaced drum. Color quality is now distorted. Prints a clean page, but photos come out with a dark golden brown tint and are mottled. Text is clear. Tried re-inserting old drum and it now has the same problem. Cleaned inside of machine. Checked all toner cartridges. Ran about 100 copies through with no change. Cannot find any tech solution specifically related to this problem on the internet. Purchased the drum over 30 days ago so it is not returnable and since both drums now have this problem, I don't think the problem is with the drum. All color settings are set to default. Have tried changing but problem persists. Any ideas on how to fix? Would it be economically feasible to have a technician look at it?
Your laser printer
1) print color quality is now distorted that means print skew (technician called)
2) print tint means the print color not enough density,
3) print mottle means print dirty
you may try
1) print distorted--- find out the skew adjustment from your printer manu, it is adjust the image before transfer to the drum.
2) print skew could be happened when the drum replace install not very accurate, so install it more carefully.
3) print tint---you may increase print density from the manu, not fix,
4) print tint---the toner caridge near life cycle or using the less compatible toner. so you have change the quality toner or cartridge (if near life cycle) to improve quality photo print
5)print mottle---toner quality ? or cartridge near life cycle also cause print dirty paper,
could you please send me a print sample, to make sure the problem exactly, then give you answer. my email: [email protected]
you may try more bellow for your print trouble
1) clean laser lens cover using soft cloth, perform an AIDC calibration cycle through the manu--- Engin/service/power on/test
reference user guide P81-82
2) check paper should be not moist
3) check waste toner bottle not too full
4) cartridge toner feeding not enough, toner feed area might be some where block
skew and calibration adjust by operate manu are same thing due to different brand name. so the idea is correct.

Unclear about how to resolve problem
1- Can not find any skew adjustment on printer menu
2- have already re-installed drum as per instructions
3- toner cartridges have plenty of life
colors are not correct after changing the drum on both photos and text. Text color is muted and not the correct color. 2300 DL
