Labtec 75 ......speakers do not fail in that manner.......when lite is on at the main speaker, it means there is power........When you switch them on, a POP in the speaker means that they are working. When windows media player says it did not like the last shutdown and is deleting plugins.....you can be sure Win XP has cut off a needed file. All I need to know is what plugin is it and how to get it back? Thank you

Check whether the output plug is connected properly or not.... if it is then check out whether the adapter is giving the power output.... if it is then the speakers are spoilt otherwise u can just replace the adapter...

When the unit fell no doubt the wire that connects the two units was damaged and the speaker is not being energized. Check for a disconnect at either end of the wire and check both wires for continuity.
Don't worry - you do not have to buy a new speaker and it is a relatively easy fix.
I would use system restore to put the lost stuff back onto your computer. Then if it puts back the unwanted software be more careful about removing it.
To open these you need to pull the front grille off. There are four screws, one in each corner. You'll need to do a bit of prying to get it open as the case is sealed around the edges, but it isn't too terribly difficult. Just take your time.
you need to locate the correct model and make of the speakers and download the latest drivers, or do a windows update and see if windows will download the appropriate drivers for you?
if its a 6 channel connection its a little tricky try reconnecting your speakers that has a green connections. try playing a music while troubleshooting the connection...hope this helps..ITTech7574
I have the same problem sir, only the speaker with volume control works. Earlier I used to twist the volume control this way and that way to get the sound from the other speaker also. Now the same technique doesn't work anymore.
