Remote not working. Has to get very close to music center to get intermittent result. Ordered a used remote from ebay - this one's range is better than my old one, about 10 feet, but still work intermittently. Also it seems that angle matters. I wonder whether there is a way to tune the sensitivity of remote radio reception on the music center. Remote not working. Has to get very close to music center to get intermittent result. I have a Bose Lifestyle 38 and the remote control stopped working effectively. I've tried several sets of fresh batteries, made sure that the electrical cord is not coiled up, and have checked the copper coil antenna within the remote to make sure it is connected. The remote does not make any noise or rattle when shaken. It will only work when held within a foot or two of the receiver, and even then often takes several button pushes to get a response. I've verified that the house code on the remote and the receiver are the same. Any ideas?
The old and new remote look alike? Not than it have diffrent radio frequencies. The remote will not work, with the Bose radio you have.Call bose custumer service, ask the remote the match ur Bose radio make and model.Return the remote u have, get a replacement matches ur Bose radio model or look alike to ur old remote.
There could be an IR interference from another source, perhaps florescent lights, DVD player, TV, etc. To locate the source, leave everything off except the receiver and TV. Turn one component on at a time and try the remote to see if the remote still works or not. If it still works, turn on next component. Try the remote until it stops working. Once you find the source, try moving it to a new location. If you don't find the source, then we may need to replace the receiver. I hope this helps.
send an email to bose support. i sent 1 email with 3 products (tv, bd-player, dishnetwork receiver) that I couldn't find in the setup screen. I got 1 email back and all are up and running - 48 hour turn around on email. had to use IR emitter on bd-player to get v30 to see it. I have samsung bd-p4600.
I purchased a LAZBOY universal remote (at Fred Meyers, on sale for $9.99) and after a bunch of research and trial-&-error, was able
program it with a code (1629) which works reasonably well with the
Bose 3-2-1.
I don't have all the system-level functions (which I never utilized anyway) but do have all the basics as far as power, volume, source, and CD/DVD control.
If your remote worked everything for a few weeks and then quit, and you are sure the codes are correct, take the remote back under the 1 year replacement warranty and exchange it. It is defective.
new batteries did not help
