THis could be caused by a restriction in the blower housing, lint chute ,or exhaust. If you can not hear the fan running the bnlower wheel could have brohen or come off the shaft. You can access this by removing the rear panel and renoving the 4 screws in the lint chute.

SOURCE: my gas whirlpool dryer won't heat. Cool air does

Hi

Things that could stop a gas dryer from heating:
- glow bar igniter, thermal fuse ( not all models ), coils on the gas valve, gas valve, thermostats, motor heat switch, timer, selector switch, sensor.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

SOURCE: gas dryer wont heat up, blows only cold air.what would cause this

Could be a bad hi limit thermostat. Could be a bad glowbar ignitor. Check the glowbar ignitor at the gas valve, is it glowing bright orange/red? If not. Replace the ignitor.

Kenmore Gas Dryer does not dry clothes.

If this is the electric version then after 15 years you probably need a new heating element, they are not difficult to install and are not terribly expensive as a DIY project.

The igniter lights. The gas comes on and ignites. The problem is the flames go out after less than a minute. I checked for lint build up and there was none.

I would look for air restrictions. Improper air flow will cause overheating. This will cause the components to shut down prematurely.themobilian_133.jpgthemobilian_134.jpgthemobilian_135.jpgthemobilian_136.jpg
If the gas fails to come back on then the gas coils are weak and overheating becoming intermittentthemobilian_137.jpg

Dryer not blowing hot air

When you say 220 gas dryer I'm not sure what you mean. If it's 220V then it should be an electric dryer, not a gas dryer. Troubleshooting is totally different between gas and electric. If it's electric (large 30A 220V plug) then good chance heating element(s) have gone bad. You can look up parts on www.searspartsdirect.com Have your complete model number. IF it's gas, it may be the pilot ignition has failed

Gas dryer starts blowing cold air after 5 minutes

This sounds like the dryer coils are failing. They tend to fail as they heat up. Here is a link that should help http://appliancehelponline.com/gdryertroublevideo.html

Dryer blowing cold air whirlpool awz3513

Check for a blown thermal fuse or a faulty heating element. Both components can be tested using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity indicates a faulty component. The thermal fuse is about an inch long and is located just inside the rear of the dryer and is usually attached to or near the exhaust duct. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Kenmore model 76712 does not blow heat just cold air

The following link explains how to troubleshoot and dryer "no heat" problem and the common causes:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r630242-dryer_runs_but_not_heat

Read through the link thoroughly, paying particular attention to the section that discusses proper ventilation. Most dryer heat related problems are caused by insufficient air flow which, in turn, causes the dryer to overheat to failure. More commonly, the Thermal Cut-Off (TCO) fails. You will need to check all the components mentioned in order to be sure. If you haven't had your dryer ventilation cleaned or inspected in a while, now would be a good time to do so. Failure to correct any potential existing problems, can cause premature failure of any parts you replace.

If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know, so I can provide you with a viable solution. i hope this helps you.
