SOURCE: no heat - ac stays on blowing through defrost vents
If you have the heater directed to the windshield, the AC will turn on. Move the control away from defrost.

No, you just need to fill freon gas.

I have the same problem. we changed the thermastat. the engine coolant was full of muck and looked rusty like something was rusting away.we then back flushed the system including the heater core. It's alot better but we think the water pump propellers are rusting away. this sometimes happens. so we are keeping an eye on the temp to see if it is getting to hot or over heating if so the the water pump needs replacing. I would have the system back flushed to see if that helps you could be having the same problem I' having. Hope this helps.

You will probably need a new RF temperature actuator which is on top of your HVAC box/under dash pad.($400 + at dealership.) I have replaced MANY....They get stuck and dont know where they are...If you want to try and recalibrate them yourself you can remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse in the underhood fuse block for 30 seconds(engine running) and reinstall the fuse and wait(IMPORTANT) 2 minutes...do not operate the a/c controls during this time...(engine still running) ..Then shut off vehicle and wait 30 seconds.. start the engine again and operate the A/C and see what happens....Hope this helps!!

You should have a heater control valve in one of the heater hoses. Check that when you set the controls all the way up hot that the valve is opening the whole way to allow hot coolant to run thru the heater core. If the valve is working and allows flow, you may have to take it out to check it. Then the problem will be the heater core is most likely clogged and needs cleaned out or replaced.
