How do i reset the cable from motherboard to monitor on my laptop

How is your computer connected to the Syncmaster 23333? Is the computer on and sending a signal through the appropriate video output. Some laptops will disable their external video ports for power savings. You may need to enable the port using the laptop built-in screen. With most versions of Windows, right click on the desktop to find the Display properties. Desktops may have motherboard video outputs and a VGA card. Does it seem like it booted all the way except the screen is black? Do you hear fans running, the hard drive spinning?

What is a hard reset? Exactly what did you do?

now u put out to another monitor by cable if u see screen in there ur lcd have problem, if black too it from ur motherboard , checking

check the cable between the pc and monitor. if you have a video card with 2 connectors make sure the cable is in the right spot.
check with another monitor or check the monitor with a laptop to see if the monitor is dead
make sure the monitor is on ac power and powered on (it happened so don't laugh)

A blank screen with evidence that the motherboard is working (the Capital "A" green light is probably the CAPS LOCK on your computer's keyboard) initially points to an output or video problem. One quick way to see if that is the case is if you connect the computer to an alternate screen. Do so with the "sick" computer powered off at first. After being sure the connections are snug, be sure that the test monitor is powered on and then turn on your "sick" Dell. If the test monitor runs as your laptop's monitor ran when it was healthy then you know there is a cabling/backlight/inverter/screen problem. Some of these can be solved very easily, some more expensively as replacement may be required.

On some laptops pressing down firmly on the keyboard may seat a screen cable to motherboard connection. That often works on IBM Thinkpads with screens that fade in and out due to a poorly seated screen cable connection to the motherboard.

So let's see how the test to a known working screen goes.

When you turn on the monitor, and if you see the power light blink i really doubt that the monitor is at fault. If it failed at all, it would likely fail completely.
Sorry to be bearer of bad news, However, there is no shortcut to reset the monitor.If you open the monitor you would find nothing than a circuit board with long string of capacitors and diodes.
However, before we jump to the conclusion that, monitor is at fault.There might be 2 more reasons.I have seen in the past that sometimes, motherboard fails while you are working on PC and sometimes Window Crash.
Lets work bacwards.
Restart PC. Press f8. If you did'nt get any screen, more likely either motherboard is corrupted or monitor is at fault.
If you do see screen, might be settings, any other colour, Load Windows again as your windows might have crashed.
Motherboard - I have seen many people throwing their monitors thinking that it's their monitor who is at fault. However, in the end its motherboard.
Try to attach your monitor with some other CPU.If that works, motherboard is corrupted.You need to repair or replace that.
Unless. Monitor.
If you honestly ask me its much better to purchase new monitor.If you want to repair that, it might cost you some bucks And once repaired, the issue would always be there ( Though not for some time ).
