Cant get my computer to recognize my SprintScan 4000

I purchased a SprintScan 4000 in 2002. I connected it and used it to test it and it worked. Since, I have a new computer and have recently decided to start using the scanner. I have the SCSI host adapter in the new computer and am working with Windows XP. I have tried to download new drivers and/ Scanvue which is what Polaroid recommended. I can not get the computer to recognize the scanner. Lights go on and it pulls in the film as before but somehow the computer does not see any of it. Could it be the cord? Could it be the host adapter (purchased in 2002) The compouter says that it is working fine. I would appreciate any help. THANKS IN ADVANCE!

The scanner uses a "twain" driver, try searching for that, it may be one of the files you already downloaded. Just look in the download u got. Also try going to add hardware, select the scanner there and poit it to the downloaded file when uit asks if you have a disk that came with it. Download the drivers to your desktop, rt click and open a folder on the desktop, and drag all of the drivers and the Twain one especially, into the folder.

I own an Olympus DS-4000 and the software it comes with is not recognizing (detecting) the device upon connecting it through the cradle or directly from the device to my computer using the OEM transfer...

Olympus uses a Device detector utility to detect the recorder. Some other applications can keep the recorder from being detected. Check for Adobe Download manager running in the tray. If it is, disable and it may work. Some printer controle managers also can cause this not to work.

Also, check if the recorder is listed as a removable drive under My Computer.

My computer doesn't recognize the camera (Olympus FE-4000 Digital Camera), it does nothing as if wasn't plugged in.

Sorry, my last solution was for someone else's problem....I hit the wrong button. As to your problem, try using a card reader from now on....it works every time with no hangups.

Compatability?

I set the USB to PictBridge mode (press home button, then main settings). Now iPhoto recognizes the camera and I can import photos.

Non-working Camera with Computer

Enter Olympus web site and look for your camera drivers to be used with your OS. Download the drivers in your computer and it should solve your problem. Good luck!
