If it will still read ps2 cds dvds and ps1 games then your blu laser just burnt out this is a common problem. if you are under warrenty still send it back if not you can pay sony $200 to fix it or loose your warrenty and spend $80 and 10 min of your time to fix it. message back if you wnat to know more and how to fix yourself

Ps3 plays videos but not games

Before doing anything else, you should run a lens cleaning disk for dvds through ps3.

Also, im willing to bet it will play ps2 games, since they run on a different format then ps3 ...

If you can read ps2 games, then you dont need to replace the drive unit. If after running the lens cleaner, you still cant play ps3, or ps2 games..

Then you may need to replace the drive unit

My PS3 can't only PS2 games!!! 80028F17

Not all PS3s are able to play PS2 games - they started removing that functionality when they came out with the 60GB model. So if you have a relatively new PS3 (A year old or so), that's likely the reason.

Ps3 wont play ps2

you need to check how many gigabytes you have left in memory because every ps2 game you use has to make its own folder in the ps3 which each one uses alot of the memory so if you play alot of differnt games and are in the middle of saved games for ex. final fantasy they use lot of memory so check that and a easy way is to delete some of your non used things like pictures or demos you downloaded from th internet and things like those
