Oil leaking from the bottom of fryer

I have had my fryer longer than a year so I know it is out of warrenty. Yesterday, cooking oil leaked out of the bottom while the fryer was in use. I emptied the fryer and made sure it was clean. I usually do this about every 3rd time I use the fryer. I can not find anywhere that appears cracked or broken. When I removed the bottom plate you can see where oil has leaked. What could have caused this?

SOURCE: cleaning deep fryer

You can not remove the reservoir because if you clean it out with a hot soapy spange or rag. turn the frier over and remove the plate you will see why the reservoir wont come out.

SOURCE: How do I remove the portion that holds the oil to clean?

If I remember correctly, the manual that came with mine said that it is not removable. Pour out the oil and wipe the interior with a paper towel. (I wish it were removable!)

SOURCE: Can you remove the bucket (part that holds the oil) on a CF153 ?

as Kachbibi1 suggested, I took the deep fryer apart.
I guess ,if you, REALLY wanted to take it out ,you can. I would NOT suggest doing so.
it is connected and bolted to all the wires and coils to heat the fryer.

My thoughts are, clean well, right away! if we take it out to clean, we will have to replace it right away ..
thank you for the suggestion Kachbibi1...trying that helped me know I cant be lazy : )

Our Pitco Frailator deep fryer boils over randomly. Is it the High limit sensor or the thermostat?

Ask service department direct. I answered this earlier. It isn't heat related. If it was heat, all your food would be burnt. Old oil boils over, so it is the oil, or what you are frying is too wet or releasing steam part way through cooking. Palm oil, the thick white stuff is particularly bad. I used 'Prep Ultra'. I have been a trade chef for 50 years, and now retired. I can smell dirty fryer oil from 10 feet and have sent fries back in the past with the question "ask chef when was the last time the oil was changed. If he says yesterday, ask him to put some in a white bowl and bring it to me".

My imperial deep fryer is leaking from somewhere. Is there suppose to be a drip pan?

No, there is no drip pan. If the oil is leaking from the drain spout, you can screw a plug in it. If it is leaking from the tank around the burner tubes.... then you need a new fryer.

Tank leaks can they be welded

Hi there.
Before having someone to repair tank leak, try to contact first the distributor or much better the manufacturer of the equipment and verify if the unit's tank is still covered by their warranty policy. Fryer tanks as far as I know has much longer warranty period, some manufacturer extend the warranty of their tank up to 10 years, but this is of course under normal use.
Leak on tank can be welded, just make sure that the one who will be doing the welding job is an expert and authorized on that field, otherwise, leak will not be sealed properly and accidents could occur.
Regards.

Our staff cleaned the fryer last night and left the pilot on without filling the oil. . The fryer was with no oil and pilot on overnight. Will it lead to problems or we have to take corrective action.

If the main burners didn't light there shouldn't be a problem. If the main burners came on there could be some damage to the tank but there is no corrective action that can be taken. If damage was done it will usually leak cooking oil when filled. Was the gas valve turned to "pilot" or "on"?

My deep fryer is leaking oil,how to fix it

Replacing the tank isn't cost effective. I am the only one I know that repairs fryer tanks. Most cannot be repaired(welded) successfully. If you got 8 years out of it..that's not bad. Time for a new one.

Leaking from oil holding pot

Using dyed water, locate leak(s), go to a welder that does stainless steel and get fixed. If leaks are detected where thermocouples pass thru tank, remove and re-seal fittings.
