I have had my fryer longer than a year so I know it is out of warrenty. Yesterday, cooking oil leaked out of the bottom while the fryer was in use. I emptied the fryer and made sure it was clean. I usually do this about every 3rd time I use the fryer. I can not find anywhere that appears cracked or broken. When I removed the bottom plate you can see where oil has leaked. What could have caused this?

You can not remove the reservoir because if you clean it out with a hot soapy spange or rag. turn the frier over and remove the plate you will see why the reservoir wont come out.
SOURCE: How do I remove the portion that holds the oil to clean?
If I remember correctly, the manual that came with mine said that it is not removable. Pour out the oil and wipe the interior with a paper towel. (I wish it were removable!)

SOURCE: Can you remove the bucket (part that holds the oil) on a CF153 ?
as Kachbibi1 suggested, I took the deep fryer apart.
I guess ,if you, REALLY wanted to take it out ,you can. I would NOT suggest doing so.
it is connected and bolted to all the wires and coils to heat the fryer.
My thoughts are, clean well, right away! if we take it out to clean, we will have to replace it right away ..
thank you for the suggestion Kachbibi1...trying that helped me know I cant be lazy : )
