Pioneer AVIC-D1 Touch Screen Recalibration
If your pioneer AVIC car navigation unit does not register your touches or the wrong button is “pressed”, you need to re-calibrate your screen’s digitizer.
-Hold the Eject button down until the face of the unit drops all the way
-Using a pen hold down the reset button (just above the joystick) and the navigation disc eject simultaneously.
-Release the reset button.
-Release the dvd eject button next. The display will read “press reset”
-Push the joystick up two times.
-Push the joystick down twice.
-Press the joystick in.
-The service menu will appear after a short pause. You can navigate the service menu using the joystick.
-Chose the first menu option and press in on the joystick.
-Trace the screen with a stylus.
-"P.ADJ" is the back button
-Chose the second menu item in order to calibrate the touch screen. Use a stylus again and tap the "+" sign on the screen. (You may have to touch slightly off center if the digitizer is damaged. In which case things will still be off but it will be much better.)

Press the MENU and MAP during power up with the SD fireware 3.02X inserted. The screen will turn white with the words UPDATING, I have all ready updated my unit a year a ago before the rebooting problem. I just go this problem also i evenually got in to boot after eleven cycles of rebooting. My firmware updates were missing for the bluetooth and O/S. I reinstalled both updates and I still have the same problem. Its odd that everyone is getting this problem around the same time. I think its an intermitenground or resistor that is just from aging. Pioneer want a flat rate of $200.00 for all repairs.
