Hello my name is Wainoni i have Sony Vaio laptop Y series Model PCG-31311W. I could log in the computer after entering the password it takes long time to log in. When i want to restore the system by pressing F10 it tells me insert your windows installation Disc and restart your computer. I have a widow 7 installation disc with extendal disc drive plug in but still the laptop can't read the disc drive when restart. So i remove the hard drive and format the c drive in another. try to contact sony vio customer service if you need recovery disk original... or try to look in any shooroom maybe they have original recovery disk for you laptop
There should be a factory image on the HD when you try restarting it. Hold down the F8 key or F10 key while its rebooting this should start the recovery process you shouldnt need a windows disk.
