My 37LG30 tv started out with turning itself on in the middle of the morning, scaring everyone in the house. Now ive checked there is no auto timer set, and no buttons on the remote are pushed in. Furthermore, it always shows the input mode bar in the bottom, and although i try selecting another input, it keeps going back to air. Also, i feel some of the actual buttons on the side of the tv are not respongin accordingly either. My question is, is there some kind of factory reset i can push on this thing, to straighten him out??? or maybe pull a fuse, that will reset it automatically...??? Please, i have had this tv for some time now, and we have grown to love and care for each other, i would hate to see her go :S
The main board is having issues as that would account for the different symptoms. You should be able to get a replacement main board from www.tvrepairworld.com

Best send repair manual.
I have pics to show / identify problem but I cannot attach to my reply. Parts defective are: 4532M x 2 (UC2 & 3), diode next to diode RC22 & cap C35 and IC6 (cannot see part number). Board number is YPNL-M007B r1.0, also recognized L.G. Phillips part number: LC230W01-A2
My hands are not as steady as years ago to do surface mount solerering but my wife can as she has done this before being electronic equipment assembler.
As stated before I need to find source of what I suspect is short that had blown these components.
I bet a replacement board is more expencive than a new LCD TV!, but I want to resolve this prob and maybe help others...LG too.
Thanks Heaps Jaime867!

SOURCE: Remote not working anymore for my LG 42PQ20. Ive tried changing
call LG if you think the TV is not accepting the signal from the remote the TV may have a fault in it. If you have any universal remotes try programing them to control the TV if they work but the other does not it is remote.

It might be something as simple as stuck buttons on the TV. If you open the back, try disconnecting the lead that goes there. Maybe work? You'll be forced to use the remote, of course.
