Xbox 360 makes revving sound when starting and loading

When I'm starting up a game, and in the loading screens(particularly Rock Band), my xbox makes a sound that sounds like when you rev and engine over and over again. I think its the fans but i dont know wtf is happening. I've had this xbox for 3-4 years and havent had ANY problems until now.

It's not likely to be the fans. The DVD drive makes a loud whirring noise. If you have the NXE dashboard you can install games to the hard drive so the DVD doesn't have to get up to speed, which means the Xbox will be quieter and you'll have faster loading times.
