Thermasol steam generator constanly taking on water

-water keeps running through unit and out steam head non stop. apparently this started with a dipping, and progressed to full flow. I assume the problem is the float. I have removed the float and tested for continuity, and get continuity regardless of position of the float. this unit has no power flush capabilities. I beleive the model is a US 40, with a standard style head.
