Follow these instructions to set up the Xbox or Xbox 360 connections to a wireless home network. These instructions assume the wireless router is already installed with a working Internet connection. If after following these instructions you are unable to network your Xbox with the wireless router, see - Connecting Xbox to Wireless Networks - Why Things Go Wrong

Here's How:
  1. Connect the appropriate wireless network adapter to the console. On the Xbox, a Wi-Fi adapter that connects to the Ethernet port (sometimes also called a wireless network bridge) must be used. Alternatively, the Xbox 360 is also designed to work with certain Wi-Fi game adapters that connect to a USB port.

  2. Turn on the console and navigate to the wireless settings screen. On the Xbox, the menu path is "Settings -> Network Settings -> Advanced -> Wireless -> Settings" On the Xbox 360, the menu path is "System -> Network Settings -> Edit Settings."

  3. Set the SSID (network name) on the Xbox to match that of the wireless router. If your wireless router has enabled SSID broadcast, the SSID name should appear pre-selected on the Xbox display. Otherwise, select the "Specify Unlisted Network" option and enter the SSID there.

  4. Specify "Infrastructure" as the Network Mode. (Infrastructure is the mode used by wireless routers.)

  5. Set the Security Type to match that of the wireless router. If your router uses WPA encryption and the type of adapter connected to the Xbox does not support WPA, you will need to change your router settings to use WEP encryption instead. Note that the standard Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter supports WPA while the standard Microsoft Xbox Wireless Adapter (MN-740) only supports WEP.
  6. Save your settings and verify the network is functional.

On the Xbox, the Wireless Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made with the wireless router, and the Connect Status screen displays whether a connection has successfully been made through the Internet to Xbox Live.

On the Xbox 360, use the "Test Xbox Live Connection" option instead.
Tips:
  1. Even when your wireless connection between the Xbox and the router is working perfectly, you may still experience difficulty connecting to Xbox Live. These issues can be caused by the quality of your Internet connection or the firewall and Network Address Translation (NAT) settings of your wireless router. Additional troubleshooting may be required in these areas to achieve reliable Xbox Live connections.

XBOX 360 WIRELESS ADAPTER

I assume the wireless router is configured correctly and the PC can connect to the wireless router and the Internet.
Follow these instructions to configure the XBox.
  1. In the Xbox Dashboard, go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
  2. Select Network Settings, Configure Network.
  3. On the Basic Settings tab, select your wireless settings.
  4. Select the name (SSID) of your wireless network. If your router isn't broadcasting your network's name, select Specify Unlisted Network and enter the name.
  5. If your network has wireless security, enter your WEP or WPA key.
  6. Try to connect to Xbox LIVE again

I got a new xbox 360, and i need to connect my xbox back

you need to go to your xbox settings and your network settings, find your network and put in the wep key for your router. If you don't know your wep key for your router, the easiest way to find it is to go on your computer, open a browser of some kind (e.g. internet explorer, firefox, safari etc.) and type in the ip address. The most standard ip address is 192.168.1.1 or something close to that. It should bring up the settings for your router and you can find the wep key usually under the wireless tab and then wireless security and your wep key should be right there! enter it into your xbox and have fun gaming. =)

Cannot connct xbox 360 wireless adaptor

Your XBOX 360 adapter should automatically be assigned an address by the router's DHCP server. I think you may be having a problem with your wireless configuration. Check the wireless settings on your router to confirm that it is indeed setup for WEP. If it is setup for WEP on bothe the router and the XBOX and the key is typed in correctly on the XBOX it should work. If it still doesn't however, disable the wireless security on your router, then restart your XBOX and see if it will connect without WEP. Many devices will have problems over WEP and not connect at all. If it connects fine with no security enabled then we will know that was the problem and I would sugest changing the security to WPA.
