Battery likely shot. X-Types simply eat batteries.

Could be bad cables or corroded connections, too.

Turn the lights on and try to crank the car. If the lights go out, (or fail to even turn on) then problem is one of the above.

Go to http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-14/ and do a few searches. If no answer found, join the forum and post your question, Member "Thermo" will have the 100% answer to your problem, I promise. He wires up Jaguar X-Types AND nuclear submarines.

The X-Type is about as complicated as the nuclear submarine, but is a great World-Class car. Congrats on your ownership of it.

Igniter keeps firing without being turned on.

The most posible cause is that the ingiter have been mositure probably from a water leak and have be short the wires of the ingiter. Their is a small chance that it will dry by it self and be normal again. If not you can remove the top and reach for the ingiter, is a plastic box with a lot of wires in and out and with hair dryer you can try to dry it. If it still sparking again then you need to replace the igniter.

I have a Frigidaire gas dryer and it ingites and works but with in a minutes the gas is cut off and never ingites back.

On your gas valve , there are 2 coils . Replace both as they come together . When they get warm due to electricity going thru them , one of them will open ( short ) and not let gas come thru until it's cooled down . Turning the dryer back on later , it will work for a short time , then stop heating again until the dryer is cooled back down. Replaceing these coils will solve your problem .

Got gas stove flints wet and wont stop sparking?

The problem is actually caused by water getting into one of the burner ingition switches. This will generally correct itself by just drying out over time. (usually within a day) Just leave the range unplugged for a while.

Hi i have a kemore gas range that the bake ingiter or broil won`t

The igniter in the oven does not spark. It heats up and glows red hot until enough current opens the safety gas valve to the burner. It is not associated with the stovetop burners. Replace the oven igniter itself.

Ingition Switch problem

no, you just need to ONLY replace the cylinder and if the new key has a chip in it get a copy made and use that one with your old master key held next to it to start the car.
