Question about LeapFrog My Pal Violet

1 Answer

Information won't save to Violet

I downloaded Leapfrog Connect, so I am able to select my child's name, songs, etc that I want Violet to play. When I plug Violet in via the USB, the computer recognizes that I have plugged her in. However, once I try to save the things that I have selected for Violet to say/play, it says that the information will be saved to her the next time I plug it in. But she is already plugged in! Help please - this is so annoying!

My experience is that after charging for some tens of minutes it will start. But I seem to be unable to charge the battery enough to have it work for long.

SOURCE: my dauhter got the leapfrog

You have to download the software for your computer that allows you to connect Violet in order to change the name, etc. Once you do that, connect Violet with the cable included and follow the steps. If you need more help let me know. It's a little tricky sometimes if you don't do things in the precise order.

SOURCE: I am trying to connect

The Eject button appears when a Leapster2 handheld is connected and turned on. When you have finished configuring the Leapster2 handheld and your child wants to play with it, you can click the Eject button to disconnect the device. Once ejected, a message will appear letting you know that it is safe to disconnect the Leapster2 handheld from the computer. It is not really a "button" but a picture of a green button which says "EJECT". It should be located on the upper right corner of your screen.

SOURCE: Tag will not update

I have had the same problem!! Running windows 7 64 bit. I am stuck in the same do-loop. I tried different usb port (as advised), downloaded 2 different installers from their web site, and verified the tag reader is "seen" under the USB controllers on my PC.
You also should check the following:
With TAG reader off, plug into USB port - if it does not automatically turn on device is defective.
IF it turns on do the following:
Click on the Windows start button (the small icon lower left of your computer). in the search box that comes up type devmgmt.msc and the device manager will open. Scrool down till you see Universal Serial Bus controllers and verify you see the TAG reader listed and verify there is no ! (exclamation point) next to it. If you see the exclamation point it may mean the driver is missing. If this is so right click and select properties, on the driver tab click update driver, on the next screen select browse my computer for the driver software. If you need to specify where to look try c:\Program Files\LeapFrog\LeapFrog Connect\TagUSBDrivers.

This was not my problem so I am still stuck - hope you solution was this easy. Anyone with any ideas I would appreciate help also. Customer service was unable to resolve.

Factory reset of leappad ultra

Download and install Leapfrog connect. If it doesn't download, there's an offline download option available. After installing it, connect your leappad ultra with the usb cable to the pc. power it on. it should get connected. If it doesn't maybe your anti virus software is blocking it. If this happens, go to your antivirus software settings and under firewall rules, select allow for leapfrog connect .exe. Then it should detect your leappad ultra. Go to left hand top corner , select My Products. Then select your leappad ultra. Then goto Settings on the right top corner and in the pop up, select Reset. It will take around 15 - 20 mins to reset it. All data will be erased.

My tag reader won't say my child's name

The two responses to this question have nothing to do with the question! I have a similar problem. I have a brand new Tag, connected and uploaded books just fine, but in my case it doesn't say any name when turned on/off.

I have a LeapFrog My Pal Violet (and Scout). The have been personalized with my child's name and favorite "things". My question is: How do I reset or clear this personalized information...

Here you are. It took a while to find the instructions!

In addition, if you would like to delete the data on your device prior to recycling, open the LeapFrog Connect program, sync your device via USB to your computer, click on the product you would like to reset from the "My Products" screen, then under "Settings," select "Reset". If you have not downloaded LeapFrog Connect, please follow these instructions to do so.
