This will help you tune your gtr. Tuners have 3 lights 2 red and 1 green. Green is in the middle of the 2 lights. You may all so have a meeter with a number calibration. Dead center of the meeter is the # 440. 440 is what is what is called standard pitch When you tune up start with the 6 string low E. the biggest string A 5th ,D 4th G 3rd B 2nd E 1ft. Looking at the red lights when the lite on the left is red you string is flat adj. by tightening . To much and the right lite glows , your sharp, back off the tention untill the green lite glows and the meeter nedal is at 440. . Thats is what you want 440 and green. Do this to the rest and you will be at standard pitch. Good luck, keep on rockin in the free world DFD please rate me TKU

I don't really know what instructions you expected, although you should have received something for the tuner and amp. I suspect that you are new to playing the guitar, as, I don't wish to sound disrespectful, you would know what to do! So first, and again I hope not to sound like I'm treating you like a dummy, plug the guitar into the tuner input. Or if It's a piezo tuner clamp it to your headstock. Most tuners are now automatic so it should pick up on the string you are striking.Repeatedly pluck the same string til the tuner changes colour, or flashes, or some other indication to tell you the string is at pitch. Repeat the above for all 6 strings.
Then plug the cable into the amp input, switch it on, and bugger about with the controls til you get a half decent sound. ( thats what the rest of us do).Don't expext too much from this package, it is budget level, but of quite good overall quality.hope this helps

Always tune UP to the open string. Loosen first then tighten, otherwise you might over stretch a cold string and boing goes the string.

Yamaha 5830 rcvr will play electric violin thru AUX jack but not electric guitar; do I need a pre-amp?

Yes, an aux jack is looking for a powered input. An electric guitar is just a passive input, like a microphone.

If you're interested, a solution and a great upgrade would be to get a wireless guitar input (battery powered). The wireless receiver would likely have an RCA output that would work with your receiver. Solves your preamp problem and you have a wireless guitar.

I have a Yamaha APX500 guitar and I can't get the tuner to turn on at all. I tried two different batteries and neither of them made the battery light turn on.

The battery only comes on when the battery needs changing. It blinks momentarily when you press the tuner button and slightly longer when you press and hold the tuner button to turn it off.

The inbuilt tuner on my Yamaha fgx720sca turns on and flashes but doesnt pick up the notes that are played, therefore cannot tune the guitar

Usuaully when a tuner flashes, it means it is on and hasn't received any signal for awhile. Your pickup may be bad or disconnected. Are you able to get any output from the guitar?

Can't figure out where the batteries go on yamaha AP500 acoustic electric guitar. I unscrewed the small little box and pulled out a bigger box with no obvious batteries in sight.

If it is an APX-500, the battery is in a holder between the neck and the tuner on the curved sides of the guitar. It should unlatch. The battery (9V) goes into the holder and is inserted and latches.

Neck and Middle pickups make little sound even with volume at max

Hi There!!

I am a gitarist myself too and firstly let me tell you u have purchased an excellent guitar to begin with!!
Now about the Neck\blues pickup.....If you say there is little sound this can be because of:-
1)Faulty bridge adjustment
2)There can be a problem also because of  the neck of the guitar being a bit bent in or around the place where u have the pick-ups though the chances of that are rare.

If there is no sound then please contact your dealer to change the piece....
Have a great time playing

Hoping this helped.Any help regarding the above steps , feel free to ask them.
See ya.

Electric Guitar wont play through Amp

the buzzing is indicative of an open ground connection, check the cord by substitution or with an ohm meter, if the cord is good look at the connections to the jack inside the amp ( im guessing you built the amp from a kit). Is this a solid state amplifier? Tube amps have lethal votages and should not be experimented on without knowledge of electronic safety. Also if there is more than one input to the amp try plugging the guitar into another one and see if its still the same.

I have just purchased a Yamaha EG012 and a Yamaha GA-15 Amplifier. I've followed the instructions adn plugged everything in, but when i turn on the amp and adjust the volumes there is just a buzzing noise...

You may have a switch with 2 settings somewhere on your amp - one for active and one for passive. try changing that.

If this doesn't work, make sure you got the guitar in the line input, change the lead for another incase it's faulty, turn the volume up on the guitar to activate the pickups, and rock-out when you find the problem and fix it.
