Can you clean the tank on an Emerson Hot 1 model hot water dispen

Sounds like the temp is too high, turn down the temp the dial should be on the front of the unit

This unit is set way too hot. The steam is pressuring the water out of the unit.

I'm not positive but insinkerator has been making these types of units for over a decade. You can buy them from amazon

1) If the tank is leaking, then Replace with new dispenser.

Replace water heater if tank wall is leaking.
These things have short warranty period.
Stainless steel will theoretically last longer, but steel tank water heaters have replaceable anode rod to prevent rust-out.

sounds as though you need a "thermo-couple" replacement to make the flame stay on,.......tryin to keep ya in hot water, cracklin joe

Is there any water at all coming out? If not turn the cold water tap on the hot water tank on.

It may have mineral deposit buildup on the inside. You will need to consult your maintenance manual to see how to flush the unit and clear it of deposits. You can also contact Insinkerator for the information as well. You can use vinegar to clean it just like you would a coffee pot. Take the inlet supply off and using a funnel pour the vinegar in and turn the unit on.
