Our Kenmore Elite HE3 turns on fine. However, after pressing Start it does not run, rotate or heat. There is a click heard after pressing Start, just like normal, but the motor never starts.
Try to turn the drum inside with no clothes in it, does it turn freely both ways?
Then as someone is holding the start button, hold the door switch
button, then try to turn the drum counter-clock wise, and see if it
will start turning on its own.
If it does start turning, then the motor is more than likely the problem.
If it dosen't then the timer is more than likely the problem.
another possibilty When you tried to restart it and when you turned the drum to try to
start it, did it make any motor sounds, like a buzz, hum, or grind
noise?
If no sounds at all, its possible your thermal fuse is bad.
