Vip222 is not on the list to control with sling...Any ideas? Help
I have read elsewhere that Slingboxes required the Dish Network receivers to be set to Primary Remote Address 1.
To try a fix:
Using the Dish Network Remote Control -
1. Press menu 2 times to get to system info page
2. In the system
info page the Primary Remote Address is in a white box (bubble) followed by a Green TV (1)symbol that
says IR and indicates the channel to which remote control 1 is
configured.
If the Primary Remote Address of your Dish VIP722 Remote control 1 is not set to channel 1, here is how to change it:
1.
While displaying the system info page, press and hold the SAT button on
your dish network remote until all other modes are flashing, about 3
seconds.
2. then press the '1' button on the numeric pad of your dish remote
3. then press the '#' button on the numeric pad of the dish remote
4. then press the 'record' button (red dot button - stores setting)
5. At this point you should see a number 1 in front of the primary remote address on the dish system info page
Ensure
you enter the corresponding IR code into your slingbox remote control per
the instructions in the Slingbox documentation.
Hay! this realy works to control dish VIP 222!!! GREAT fix and easy! you need to set the Dish RemoteIR to #1 then it will match the sling box IR and everything works great.
using the dish remote:
press menu 2 times
now check the IR remote code box..is it set to #1?
to make it #1: press and hold Sat button for three sec Light blinks
press 1
press #
press red record button
the box should now read #1........
Dish network told me that the vip 222 isn't on the setup list because it's incompatible with slingbox. don't know if that's true so swapped to the vip722k and I still can't setup my remote viewing so it will work. Been working on this for months. Good luck
