How do i thread new home mx3123 - New Home MX-3123 Computerized Sewing Machine

Please describe what is happening?

Skip stitch
Thread loops and nests on bottom
Top thread shows on bottom
Bottom thread shows on top

If you cant.determine top an bottom thread use a contrasting colors of top and bottom thread.

It's important to thread machine according to instruction.

This machine uses a horizontal spool. Be sure to use a spool cap that is larger than the spool. Pay close attention to the direction the thread falls from the spool. Flip spool end over end to correct.

You need a darning foot or free motion foot. They are shorter than standard presser feet, so they do not set on the feed dogs but hover just above. The additional space allows you to manipulate the fabric without interference from the feed dogs. (Be sure to drop the feed dogs or cover them with the supplied cover plate--whichever your machine uses.)

Even the best of machines vary depending on how they are being used. Certain machines are better at embroidery, while others are better for sewing garments or home projects. Decide what you want to do with your machine, test them out, and then decided which is best for YOU!!!

Mostly it happens when tensioner is to tight. Try letting off tension a little at the time.

sound like it needs to be serviced

You can't - it is only designed to always stop in the up position, then you can manually push the "needle down" button to make the needle go down while you turn a corner. The next model up the 4263 had the "stop down" option. Sorry.

1/28/13 - I have Janome Harmony 2049 that was initially sewing forward with no reverse and then after about 12 inches of sewing would ONLY sew in reverse. After spending an hour getting the plastic housing off...I was able to locate the shaft that made the reverse. It needed lubrication and after working it in and unjamming the part from the down position, the forward and reverse now work!
Huh, right? Hope it continues to work well. It is a smooth running machine, otherwise. Good luck!
