Goes on for ten seconds then shuts off for one minute, the drying light is flashing the entire time it's pausing, then it starts again and does it again. I unplugged it to see if t would reset and its still does it.
This appears to be a known issue with these LG series dryers. No one on this site has a clue about it, they just keep saying go check the thermisters. It is NOT a thermister issue; it is a problem in the program/cpu board itself. We have the same issue. It does not matter which mode it is in - just fluff mode with no heat does same thing. The KEY facts are that you can unplug machine for 30 sec and then try again and it does same thing. You can TURN OFF the machine (still plugged in) for 5 minutes, then try again, it still does the same 3 sec (in our case) run then stop for 2 minutes (in our case) then restart itself and repeat. YET IF YOU UNPLUG FOR 5 MINUTES THEN TRY AGAIN IT WORKS FOR THE NEXT HOUR, WEEK, MONTH - RANDOM - UNTIL IT REPEATS. This is a controller issue, NOT a thermister issue. Ultimately a new PCB will be required to fix it - I am waiting as long as my wife will put up with it - so LG actually figures out their design flaw and fixes it before I just buy another poorly designed cpu card.
So a week after checking into this and determining it is a cpu controller issue, my wife SOLVED the symptoms!!!! Noting that this phenomenon only happened when it was COLD outside, she decided to wrap a towel as insulation around the foot long 4" exhaust hose between the dryer and wall... Crazy as it is, we have had NO more shutdowns since she did that... Proof positive the issue is indeed temperature related. Just not sure how the controller was getting confused by COLD exhaust area - I figure it is a programming mistake: they probably were watching for HOT thermostat inside and HOT thermostat further down the exhaust but forgot to absolute value the difference; so if the output is REAL cold and inside is warmer, it gives the same but wrong difference answer... anyway, insulate your exit pipe and it works again.

You dryer has several "overheat thermostats" located at various places inside your machine.
They are to prevent fires caused by overheating.
I suspect one of them is defective, or you have another problem which is causing one to shut your dryer off.
The dryer is shutting off to prevent a fire.
Be blessed

I replaced one of thermostats and fixed the "not heating" problem. I had a local parts dealer test both thermostats to tell me which one was bad but had to order the part on-line as you have to go through LG's supplier to get it. Shipping was almost as much as the part.
Thanks for the post on the cooling light not an issue.

If you use dryer sheets, LG recommends no. Dryer sheets cause a film that will not allow the sensors to feel the clothes moisture during the drying process thereby causing the computer to countdown the timer quickly. To clean out the sensors, use a green pad and scrub the sensor bars inside the dryer drum. That should remove the film left by the dryer sheets.

Check your venting. Insure it is not clogged as this can cause the unit to stick at 6min mark. Just before the cool down period.

If you remove the front cover hitting the reset switch is rather easy. However I did that the other day and only got 1 load done before it tripped again.
I just picked this dryer up used from a buddy the other day and am already having trouble. Also... It runs very loud. How loud is yours complared to the washer?
