Casio G-Shock alarm not working

I have a Casio G-Shock model dw-9051 (the "classic" style)-unlike everyone else, I can't get my alarm to go ON. The icon for the alarm chime is there, and I can turn it on and off with the alarm on/off button (top right). When the time comes around the watch blinks as if the alarm is going off but I have no sound. I don't have a manual so I'm confused-since this watch may have applications for the military, is there a way to deactivate the alarm chime for safety, and if so, what is this procedure? Other than the chime module being shot I can't imagine why it's not going off when it is supposed to. Thanks.

Check if the spring is in its place. Also, check if the spring is oriented in the right way.

The alarm should be sounding. (broken?) To turn hourly chime on and off, go to alarm screen and select SIG. Then top left button turns it on and off.

A -- B
( ) Button reference
C __D

6) Hourly Chime (SIG):
Press C until alarm mode is reached (AL1 - AL4 + SNZ and SIG).
Press D to select hourly chime (SIG). Press A to toggle chime on and off.

Press C to return to Timekeeping mode.

Good luck,

The problem is the piezo alarm inside the back of the watch, once the thin coating on it is scratched off, it will no longer work. If you look, there will probably be a scratch where a spring or small piece of the watch works touch it. This happens when the back of the watch is removed and replaced sometimes. If you replace the back of the watch it will work again, but good luck getting another back.

How do I select a Casio g-shock from chirping every 60 seconds//

Question moved from Sharp Televisions to Casio Watch.

Every 60 seconds or every 60 minutes? Do you see 'PS' for low power, power saving on the screen. How new is the battery?

I've changed my battery on my casio g-shock dw 003 but the illuminator no longer works! why?

Did the same with my DW-003 and thought I'd broken the Illuminator (and the alarm didn't work). Next battery change was via a shop and the illuminator worked again (as did the alarm). This was just a battery cahnge, rather than a repair job - One of those things, I guess

Model & spring issue with an ol casio G-Shock when replacing batt

This spring is connector to caseback for transmitting sound. Get an eyeglass and find out on movement backplate written SPRING COIL and put it back. If there is no marking SPRING COIL then check for the hole with approx. same diameter as spring (must easy fit in). The hole shoud be empty with contact spot at the bottom. Put the spring in and close the caseback. Check alarm sound. If it works, you did find the right hole- if not, try again till you find the right one.

Good luck

I had the battery in my Casio G Shock DW 6800 replaced. Since then none of the beeps or alarms have worked. Is there a reset button he didn't press?

There is a reset button inside your watch, but I don't think that is the problem. Most likely, there is a spring that makes contact to the watch and the back of your watch case, and it fell out by the person replacing your battery. I would definitely go back to the place where you had the battery installed, and have them take care of the problem buy ordering you a new spring or have them pay for you to send it to Casio.

I had my battery replaced in my Casio G Shock DW -6800. Since then the beeps and alarms are not working. Is there some sort of reset button he forgot to press?

There are two internal springs that contact the back cover of the watch through an insulator. The alarm nor chime will work if they were not put into their proper locations or were omitted during reassembly.
